One of the most influential anime of all time will be streamed for free on YouTube and here’s how you can watch the acclaimed boxing anime

Ashita no Joe, One of the best and most beloved boxing anime of all time will release its first three episodes to stream for free, as announced in a press release from Kodansha USA. Courtesy of Anime on TMS YouTube channel, TMS Entertainment is releasing the first three episodes of Ashita no Joe on November 1, 2024, for a limited time. This gives fans a chance to watch the original 1970 anime, aka Tomorrow’s Joeto get into the series, one of the many benefits of anime being continually popular in the present.

Ashita no Joe began its anime run on Fuji TV in 1970, based on the original 1968 Kodansha manga written by Asao Takamori and illustrated by Tetsuya Chiba. The series has a poignant countercultural significance and a lasting influence on anime and manga for decades, including Hajime no Ippo, Kengan Ashuraand the famous cross-counter movement. Now, thanks to TMS Entertainment, viewers can follow Joe Yabuki as he discovers renewed potential as a professional boxer after his time in juvenile detention in Ashita not Joe.

Ashita at Joe’s The 1970 anime was directed by Osamu Dezaki, the acclaimed director behind some of the most beloved intergenerational series of all time The Rose of Versailles, Astro Boyand Space adventure snake.

This significant development excites fans for Kodansha USA English premiere of the original manga, Ashita no Joe: Fighting for Tomorrow, scheduled for December 24, 2024. The anime was eventually followed by a sequel, Ashita no, Joe 2, in 1980, with its ending so influential and triumphant that it has been imitated by some of today’s best contemporary fighting anime.
