Why you should watch Interstellar on Peacock
Interstellar Characteristics Quintessential Nolan Elements
With titles like The Dark Knight and Oppenheimer under your belt, Interstellar It may not be Nolan’s best film, but it’s worth watching for fans of the director’s work. On the one hand, that space movie is a great example of Nolan’s tendency to work with time as a key device in his film. One of the main ideas Interstellar it’s just that time passes much more slowly for Cooper than it does for his elderly children at home. This discordant progression of events leads to some of the most tragic moments in Nolan’s filmography to date.
Interstellar it’s also a testament to Hans Zimmer’s power as a film composer. Known most recently for his work on Denis Villeneuve’s film Dune films, Zimmer produces some of his best work ever for Interstellarfeaturing a score as epic as the story itself. Zimmer and Nolan are frequent collaborators, so it’s fascinating to see how they interact again working on this film.
Lastly, Interstellar It’s worth watching on streaming to unravel its complexity. While the grandeur of the film’s cinematography warrants a theatrical rerun at upcoming anniversary screenings, there is an advantage to watching the sci-fi film at home. Viewers can feel free to pause and take time to unpack the film and its complex plot and theme. Standing still for almost three hours, watching Interstellar It’s a big undertaking, but one worth embarking on when it comes to Peacock this week.
What Screen speech said about Interstellar:
Interstellar It’s an imaginative film, but a heavy mix of personal sacrifice and theoretical physics doesn’t leave much room for subtle storytelling (or particularly memorable action). For a film that is rooted in the love between a father and daughter, Interstellar delivers surprisingly cold (and often stiff) drama – albeit one driven by lofty sci-fi settings and captivating visuals. Nolan relies heavily on long scenes of superficial exposition, where characters openly debate or explain complicated physical and philosophical ideas, to educate the audience and ruminate on humanity (good and bad) in the face of death and destruction.
