Is Alex Byrd or Tim Godbee the bigger villain? (Both are wrong)

Alex Byrd and Tim Godbee got engaged in the pods in Love is blind Season 7, but each of them adopted villainous methods after the most recent episodes. Tim, a web content strategist, tragically lost both of his sisters when he was young. He turned to Alex, a producer who works in the fashion industry, who gave him space to unpack his trauma. Although their relationship seemed to be going well in the pods, their engagement changed during the Love is blind season 7 trip to Mexico.

Love is blind Season 7 was an overall disappointment. Although six couples got engaged, only three couples remain in the countdown to the wedding episode. Furthermore, Tyler Francis neglected to disclose his sperm donor status to Ashley Adionser. They may get married on the show, but as more news about Tyler spreads, it becomes highly unlikely that the two are still together today. Alex and Tim were an unstable couple from the start, but unlike many couples, they are both in the wrong. Here’s why.

Alex and Tim fought off camera

Alex allegedly covered his mouth with his hand

The first episode drop ended on a cliffhanger as Alex and Tim relived the aftermath of an epic fight that happened off-camera. Allegedly, Tim and Alex got into an argument after the group’s probably alcohol-fueled party, at which Alex was accused of putting his hand over Tim’s mouth. He looked bruised and traumatized, the life draining from his eyes when Alex gave him a hug, despite his claims that he did not want to be touched.

According to @realityashley as reported by Vulture, Alex stated that he never covered Tim’s mouth with his hand. Since fans weren’t aware of the argument, it’s unclear what actually happened during the altercation.

In fact, it wasn’t anything physical. It wasn’t that I physically covered his mouth – it was a sort of movement to calm the situation so he would understand that his voice was turning into a scream..”

Alex and Tim probably should have ended up in Mexicobut he decided to forgive her. In previous episodes, Tim read a heartfelt letter to Alex’s father, who has multiple sclerosis, asking for her hand in marriage. However, problems arose after Tim was unimpressed with Alex’s behavior towards his parents.

Alex didn’t think Tim was funny

Their personalities didn’t match

Alex’s lack of appreciation for Tim’s sense of humor should have been the first red flag in their relationship, but these two mismatched cast members kept trying to make it work. In the pods, Tim’s trauma was dumped on Alex instead of showing her his true personality. He had a lot to unpack about the tragic deaths of his two sisters, but Alex showed very little about who she was as a person other than her ability to be a good listener.

Alex seemed to dislike Tim from the start, and Tim had to tone down his shine to appease his fiancée.

In Mexico, Tim found a hat he liked, but Alex was horrified. It was a perfectly non-offensive hat, and Tyler even bought one like it. However, Alex seemed to have no sense of fun and didn’t find that hat or his “wow wow wow” jokes funny. Their incompatibility only progressed from there, with Tim revealing his immaculately clean house, while Alex’s house was a disaster.

Alex disrespected Tim’s parents

She took a nap after the cameras stopped rolling

Alex made a serious mistake and solidified himself as a Love is blind villain when she took a nap after the cameras stopped rolling during her date with Tim’s parents. Tim already seemed insecure about Alex when discussing their relationship with his parents, but her off-camera behavior was the nail in Alex’s coffin. their tumultuous engagement.

The best husband will let you take a nap, girl.

Alex mocked the incident online, posting a video on Instagram shortly after the episodes’ release. “Afternoon nap, anyone?” she captioned the video, showing up at her friend’s house only to nap on the couch. Fan reactions were mixed in the comments, with one saying: “Tim was right to leave you. He should have left you in Mexico, his delivery may have been bad, but he did it well,” while another commented, “The best husband will let you take a nap, girl”, followed by a clapping emoji.

Although Alex was smiling and had all the right answers during the on-screen interaction with Tim’s parents, things changed when the cameras stopped rolling. Alex immediately went to take a nap, despite Tim’s parents driving ten hours to meet her. Tim was not impressed with her behavior and confronted her the next day to explain that it was the straw that broke the camel’s back. When Alex tried to speak, Tim refused to listen.

Tim was an “immovable object”

His mind was already made up

When Tim sat Alex down over a plate of chicken wings to talk about his grave mistake, his decision was already made. However, Tim displayed several times throughout the show that he was a “immovable object,“that most women will not tolerate in 2024. Although Alex was difficult and undoubtedly unsuitable for Tim, his stubbornness and inability to listen will be a problem for his future relationships. Tim needed to stand up for what he needed in a relationship, but he also surprised Alex and disregarded her feelings.

Tim said he never wanted to see Alex again, but they will both appear in the Love is blind reunion airing Wednesday, October 30th at 9pm ET on Netflix.

Ultimately, Alex and Tim brought out the worst in each othermaking both villains. However, they are not bad people; they just never should have been together. Hopefully, Alex will find someone a little more messy who treats her like a princess, and Tim will find someone more orderly, goofy, and flexible. It’s a relief that this Love is blind couple chose to separate.
