Ryan Murphy’s haunting anthology series, American horror story
featured some incredibly talented actors, but after seeing Finn Wittrock in another horror thriller, it’s clear he’s an exceptional villain. AHS helped highlight incredible talent, old and new. Thanks to the series’ changing format with an entirely new story each season, the cast has the opportunity to explore various characters and play the roles of heroes and villains between different seasons.

However, an underrated talent who first appeared in AHS season 4 has mostly played villains within the context of the series… until now. Finn Wittrock has been cast as antagonist Richard in Netflix’s new thriller Don’t move. While Wittrock has certainly proven his talent throughout AHSSeeing him take on roles outside of the series further solidifies his talent and ability to work with multiple creative teams to create truly chilling villains.

Wittrock has had several minor roles in TV and film since 2002, with her first major role being in the series. All my children in 2009. AHS has struggled in recent seasons, with many fans praising previous seasons for their creativity and dark tones. One of the reasons these earlier seasons were so compelling was because the villains were exceptional, with great actors cast in these roles. And seeing Wittrock’s performance beyond AHSthat’s it Of course he could be exactly what the show needs to deliver, another intense and terrifying villain with layers of nuance and complexity. Especially since his last appearance in Red Tide, he wasn’t even a villain.

One of the reasons these earlier seasons were so compelling was because the villains were exceptional.

In Don’t movehis character, Richard, is a seemingly kind stranger who helps comfort a woman in distress. However, he soon reveals a much more sinister side of himself when he injects the woman with a paralytic and begins a game of cat and mouse with her through the open forest. Throughout the film, Wittrock plays the duality of this character, who can make complex and creative lies on the spot, and manipulate those around him. But the character is also violent, full of rage and genuinely dangerous. Climbing Wittrock to American horror story season 13 could be a great opportunity to utilize his incredible talents.
