Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Deadpool #5! Dead Pool has a history of meeting and then becoming attached to certain people in the Marvel Universe, including characters who have appeared in the UCM. These people are often famous loners, those who march to the beat of their own drum, like Cable or Wolverine. And now, Deadpool has adopted yet another ‘loner’ into the Wilson Family, officially adding a much-underrated MCU character to his lore.
In Dead Pool #5 by Cody Ziglar and Andrea Di Vito, Deadpool faces the most dangerous villain he’s ever faced: Death Grip. Death Grip has found a way to magically fuse his body with the Muramasa Blade, meaning he has the means to inflict injuries that Wade cannot recover from, as the Muramasa Blade neutralizes all healing factors. Fortunately, Deadpool doesn’t face this villain alone.
Throughout this Deadpool comic, Wade Wilson joined forces with his two daughters, Ellis and Princess (who is a giant symbiote dog), and one of the deadliest mercenaries alive: Taskmaster. Together, these deadly characters charge headlong into Death Grip’s lair, determined to destroy the villain before he can do what he’s planning to do and kill Deadpool. Although Wade suffers some serious damage, the team emerges victorious from the fight, at which point Deadpool turns to Taskmaster and says, “You are now part of the Wilson Family!”.
What Taskmaster joining the Deadpool family means for the future
Taskmaster is currently training Marvel’s new Deadpool: Wade’s daughter Ellie
While Deadpool and the gang managed to get out Dead Pool #5 alive, their fight is unfortunately not over. In the next issue, Death Grip breaks into Wade’s compound and unceremoniously kills him while Taskmaster, Ellie, and Princess are on a mission together. Since then, Ellie has served as the new Deadpool and has been trained by none other than Taskmaster.
Ellie inherited Wade’s healing factor, making her virtually impossible to kill. Furthermore, Taskmaster took Ellie under his wing even before Deadpool was killed by Death Grip. Now that Deadpool is gone, Taskmaster is all Ellie has in the world (not counting the Princess), and he’s proving to be a valuable member of Deadpool’s family. Taskmaster isn’t just training Ellie, he’s also helping raise her, acting as guardian and protector in Deadpool’s place. In fact, Deadpool chose wisely when he adopted Taskmaster into the Wade family.
Our Take on Foreman Becoming an Honorary Wilson
Deadpool and Taskmaster’s New Bond Could Be Adopted in the MCU
Taskmaster is about to appear in the next MCU film Rays film, which will be the character’s second appearance after Black Widow. Although it is not yet known how it will be used in RaysIt’s fair to say that Taskmaster’s MCU debut left fans wanting. But, now that Taskmaster and Deadpool have become so close in the comics, it’s possible that Taskmaster could be paired with the Merc with a Mouth in the MCU, effectively adapting this current Marvel Comics storyline, making Taskmaster a member of the Wade Family across the world. . various means.
While it’s too early to say whether Taskmaster will team up with Deadpool in the MCU, it’s clear how much of an asset the character has become to the entire Wade family in Marvel Comics. And that’s appropriate, since this is underrated UCM character is now an official part of Dead Poolthe family itself.
