She mentioned that she still needs to wear hand-painted prescription contact lenses. Irlen syndrome, also known as scotopic sensitivity syndrome, is a medical condition of disordered visual processing that can supposedly be treated with the use of colored lenses. It affects the brain's ability to process visual information and, in most cases, is hereditary.
