90 Day Fiance: The Other Side star Statler Riley It's not really winning hearts for playing the sympathy card after accusing Dempsey Wilkinson of cheating and deceiving her. Statler, from Irving, Texas, has a thing for accents, and it was Dempsey's British accent that she fell in love with. Statler also wanted to move to the UK, but that won't happen as the couple split after season 6. Statler alleges that Dempsey cheated on her with her roommate and that Dempsey, who kept the van, owes her more than $20,000 along with Statler's belongings in the van.
Statler is now being accused of being petty and not moving on from the failed relationship, even though Dempsey already has a new girlfriend.
Reddit user Frosty-Paramedic-240 posted some screenshots of Statler's IG stories with captions, “My God, Statler (Carolyn) is beyond petty. She's the one who loves drama.” Statler posted a photo of Dempsey posing next to a bicycle and wrote: “When you're using all the money you owe your ex to travel!” Statler then included himself in the image using Photoshop and added: “Thank you everyone for supporting me.” Statler shared a different photo where she continued to shade Dempsey. She wrote that how little she cares about the truth in the world never ceases to amaze her.
“People love drama, but even when the truth is dramatic, they choose to believe the lies because they fit with whatever stubborn beliefs they have.”
This time, Statler was criticizing fans who refused to believe her accusations against Dempsey. She called these fans “closed mind” because they supported Dempsey even when Statler was bringing the “receipts.” Statler said she will still be real, authentic and vulnerable and will always give it her all. Statler added that despite her being authentic on camera, fans have preferred “Likes, deceptions and fake people.”
What Statler’s “petty” attitude means amid feud with Dempsey
Statler is boring his fans with his constant criticism of Dempsey
Statler began posting about Dempsey after discovering she had a new girlfriend. Statler is jealous of Dempsey. She even tagged Dempsey's new girlfriend Anayeli Trujillo in her IG Stories as she wanted Anayeli to tell Dempsey to return Statler's teddy bears. She later claimed that Dempsey met Anayeli while she was still with Statler. She accused Dempsey of emotionally cheating on her with Anayeli. Statler's pettiness is a reflection of how immature she is. Statler's problems are of her own making. She took on financial responsibility when she embarked on van life with Dempsey.
Statler is also trying too hard to prove to fans that she is the victim in this situation. She doesn't appreciate the fact that Dempsey also had supporters from the beginning who felt she was the sensible and responsible half of the relationship. Dempsey showed maturity when she never stooped to Statler's level and did not address the cheating allegations. Dempsey only decided to address Statler's accusations when Statler insinuated that Dempsey had thrown away the teddy bears. Dempsey is winning this argument by refusing to say anything.
Our Take on Statler’s “Stingy” Attitude Toward Dempsey
Did Statler ignore Dempsey's red flags to stay on TV?
Statler and Dempsey should have discussed in advance how they would divide their belongings if they ever separated. Statler has an excuse ready every time she's called out and hates it when Dempsey doesn't react. Tagging Dempsey's girlfriend was the last straw for Statler, and this time she successfully hurt Dempsey with her words and actions. If Dempsey was a red flag all along, Statler should have broken up with her right from the start or decided not to disclose their relationship on 90 Day Fiance: The Other Side in any way.
