9 Naruto moments that should live in your head rent-free

naruto He's earned his reputation, and that's all there really is. naruto It changed anime forever, and its masterful storytelling provided countless moments that its fans will never forget. Over several hundred chapters and episodes, naruto sculpted several magnificent situations that, to this day, make other shōnen pale in comparison.

To be honest, it's difficult to come up with a list that can capture narutois the width. One can restrict the search to the most familiar faces – Naruto, Sasuke, Jiraiya, Kakashi and so on – but the fact is that naruto is a series where each character has a profoundly powerful moment. naruto it has an extremely broad world and places great importance on the backstories and psychological depth of its characters. Virtually every character that gets screen time also gets a moment fully immersed in narutois the center of attention. There are a few moments, however, that shine above the rest.

Sasuke faces the Raikage

naruto Shippuuden #203

The Five Kage Summit arc is one of the Naruto Shippuudenit's the best, and it's also definitive for Sasuke's character. Shortly after Obito gave Sasuke information about Itachi's true role in the Uchiha massacre, Sasuke breaks and goes straight into the beast's belly. Alongside Taka, Sasuke infiltrates the second Five Kage Meeting, called to formulate a plan against Akatsuki.

People often call the highlight of the arc Sasuke's confrontation with Danzo, but his fight with the Raikage is a thrilling and underrated moment – Sasuke's escape from death while fending off the Raikage's falling guillotine is a moment for the ages. Meanwhile, the Raikage's comparison of Sasuke to Kakashi borders on a nice indirect provocation, while Gaara's intervention recalls the disproportionate role he played in the summit proceedings. Overall, the fight is at its peak naruto fashion.

Konan tries to defend herself from Obito

Naruto Shippuuden #253

Konan floating in dead water

One could write an entire essay about Konan being emblematic of Naruto's countercurrents, exposing the darkness behind Konoha and the Kage system while also showing the inevitability of Akatsuki's total radicalization. Even when Naruto promises her and Nagato a peaceful future in a deeply emotional moment, it turns out to be an exercise in futility – the same futile trust that produced the rubble that gave rise to Akatsuki and that, time after time, has led it astray and weakened it. . In the reconstruction following Pain's attack, no resources were diverted to ensuring the continued peace of Amegakure.

So when Obito appears in search of Nagato's Rinnegan, Konan is left alone to defend Amegakure and Nagato's corpse.. Konan had plenty of opportunities before the fight to show how beautiful and unique her paper jutsu was, but her fight against Obito was where her raw power was also fully realized. The fight is a beautifully choreographed moment in narutoof historyand its risks and circumstances are enough to deeply confuse even the most die-hard Konoha fan.

Deidara meets an explosive end against Sasuke

Naruto Shippuuden #124

Sasuke fighting Deidara in Naruto

It may be cliché or low-hanging fruit to call Deidara's fighting style “flashy,” but it's also entirely true. Deidara is actually behind several narutoThey are incredible fights. There's no better example of this than when he faces off against Sasuke.

Almost nothing really needs to be said. naruto is slowly becoming a victim of its own age, and the enthusiasm the series can generate pales in comparison to “modern” shōnen. There is no better counterexample than Deidara vs. sasukewhere the stakes grow higher and higher with each twist and propel the viewer toward an earth-shattering climax: Deidara's mushroom cloud-producing self-destruction jutsu, which destroys a huge swath of forest while Sasuke survives only by the skin of his teeth and a last second substitution.

Hinata rushes to defend Naruto

Naruto Shippuuden #166

Hinata protects Naruto in battle

Hinata and Naruto's relationship has always been controversial, but whether one loves it or hates it, there is no doubt that configure one of narutothe most iconic moments. When Naruto is facing Pain, expending everything he has in an effort to defend Konoha, Hinata rushes to defend him. Given the broader context narutoDespite the love for self-sacrificial gestures, it's one of the few moments where the self-sacrifice feels entirely genuine.

The fact that it happened more or less out of the blue also gave the moment a strong shock value. Ultimately, there's not much to say about this moment. It's sweet, it's tragic and it's unforgettable.

5

Might Guy gives his all against Madara

Naruto Shippuuden #421

The Eight Gates jutsu is one of the narutoThe many kinjutsu – forbidden jutsu – and their physical danger were established from the beginning naruto. During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Madara proves to be an unstoppable force, and the most anyone can really do against him is to take him down little by little. Here comes Might Guy.

To further qualify the moment, the Fourth Great Ninja War is an absolutely huge part of the Naruto Shippuuden-about half of the series. When Might Guy makes his last stand against Madarait's a truly heroic and beautiful moment that is both cushioned and exacerbated by the emotional exploration that surrounds it. His resurrection drew the ire of many fans, but Might Guy's fiery descent is easily among narutomost touching (and painful) moments.

4

Itachi and Kisame invade Konoha

naruto #81-85

Itachi Sasuke Episode 85 Naruto

This is really a series of moments, but it culminates in something unforgettable. Itachi and Kisame invade Konoha, giving viewers one of the first glimpses of Akatsuki in the process. These episodes are where viewers get their first look at Sasuke and Itachi's story. Between Kakashi and Sasuke's respective clashes with Itachi, this is also where the Sharingan becomes a truly menacing force in the series.

But it's the last confrontation – Sasuke with Itachi, as Naruto tries in vain to restrain Kisame and Jiraiya appears to protect Naruto and Sasuke – that is so unforgettable. Itachi aggressively tells Sasuke that he doesn't have enough hate and throws him into a Tsukuyomi where he has to relive the pain of the Uchiha massacre.

3

Kakashi and Obito face each other

Naruto Shippuuden #375

Kakashi and Obito fight in the Kamui Dimension

Perhaps it is ironic that in a series called naruto which, more than any other trope, can be credited with solidifying Talk no Jutsu, Talk no Jutsu's most compelling moment actually involves a heated battle, and in fact hardly involves the titular character. After being teased with a convoluted story about Kakashi and Obito's time together, everything comes together in a battle between Kakashi and Obito. The highlight is the emotional cornerstone of Rin, Kakashi and Obito's mutual friend and love interest, whose tragic death motivates Kakashi and Obito's actions throughout the series.

Furthermore, the fight is an animation masterpiece. Long before the dynamic fluidity of Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen has become the norm for shōnen battle, Kakashi's banter with Obito was a masterpiece of beautifully choreographed action. To this day, few fights stand up to this in terms of their ease, and the way the pair face off against each other really accentuates their deeply interconnected stories.

2

Rock Lee gives Gaara a run for his money

naruto #48

Rock Lee punches Gaara

All naruto fan remembers when Rock Lee faced Gaara in the Chunin Exams. The appeal of the moment doesn't come from anything in particular: Rock Lee slowly searches through several of the Eight Gates as he tries to outrun and outrun the jinchuriki of the sands. He fails in the end, but despite being fully in control, his indomitable will to fight and prove himself drives his body to carry on regardless. It's a terribly tender view of the psychology of narutois the real underdog.

Rock Lee is inspiring for a reason. narutoChina's system of power is blatantly unfair and unapologetically unjust. Someone like Rock Lee, with no real jutsu skills, has to be tested against – and for his entire life, compare himself to – someone like Gaara (or Naruto) with an unrealistic advantage. It also builds on Neji's “genius status” and his treatment of Lee. The incredibly over-the-top fight is a turning point for Lee and leads him to gain Neji's grudging respect. narutoHe is a more “talented” shinobi.

1

Madara takes down an entire army

Naruto Shippuuden #322

This is, without a doubt, the most memorable naruto moment of all time. After hundreds of chapters and episodes building up Madara, establishing an entire mythology around him, and having Obito take his name for one of the best misdirections in anime history, fans finally got to see what the infamous Uchiha was capable of. After his resurrection during the Fourth Great Ninja War, Madara single-handedly defeated hundreds of shinobi without using a single jutsu.

A million words could be spent explaining why Madara is one of the best anime villains. But the video above could condense such a long-winded argument into less than three minutes: When Madara is released, the taunts, mockery, and effortless power are a chef's kiss recitation of the inimitable arrogance that makes Madara, well, Madara. naruto I spent careful years building it, and the payoff was incredible.
