The revelation of his behavior and his defense of himself made it clear that Gary should no longer be part of the cast. Some are more dynamic than others, but captains always play a fundamental role.
Captain Glenn may be an important part of the crew, but he’s not the most interesting captain in the franchise. Handsome and generous, Captain Jason was a relatable captain who many felt should be the face of Below Deck franchise.
While not every captain can or should be as magnetic as Captain Jason, his status as a beloved Below Deck captain makes it much more interesting for viewers. His magnetic personality and interesting management style have brought him a sense of security with Below deck, because viewers often beg for its return to the screen. While CCaptain Glenn is good at his job, he is not as charismatic as Captain Jasonand didn’t have the same attraction with Below Deck viewers in his years with the franchise.
