Warning: This article contains spoilers for Hellbound season 2.
Although there has been no announcement regarding Hell being renewed, there are already many theories about what could be in store for a potential third season. After a three-year wait, Hell season two has finally been added to the Netflix library. The second season of the Netflix original Korean drama was just as intense as its first season and added even more mysteries about its creatures and mythology.
Hell Season 2 didn’t exactly end on a cliffhanger like Season 1, but there are some aspects of Season 2 that set the show up for another installment. Hell Season 2 had several unanswered questions, which can be frustrating since it took three years for Season 2 to be released. However, it’s the nature of cosmic supernatural horror projects not to explain everything. So if Hell If the third season were to happen, it could delve deeper into some of the mysteries that weren’t resolved in the show’s second season.

The origins of angels will finally be explained
Hell season 2 explained the origins of the monsters. However, where the angels came from still remains a mystery. In Hellangels are the supernatural beings in the series who tell the characters when they will die and that they are destined for Hell. Other than that, little has been revealed about them in the two seasons of Hell. Since the origin of the monsters was revealed at the end of Hell Season 2 and 3 of Netflix’s original K-drama may delve into where angels come from.
So far, it is unclear whether the angels and demons in Hell They only targeted people because of divine intervention or if the prophecy and attacks were random occurrences. Seeing as monsters were once human, the question remains whether this is also the case for angels. It’s possible that the angels are extraterrestrial beings from an alternate dimension, given that Jin-su told Jeong-ja that he was taken to another world.

More people will be resurrected in hell
At the end of the season Hell In the first season, Jeong-ja was resurrected after spending eight years in Hell. Four years after Jeong-ja’s resurrection, Jin-su was also brought back to life. Jeong-ja and Jin-su weren’t the only ones who were resurrected in Hell. Bae Young-jae and Song So-hyun’s baby was also brought back. The reason why these characters and not the millions of others who underwent manifestation were resurrected is not clearly stated in the series.
However, given the mass decrees seen at the end of Hell in season 2, there is a possibility that more people will be resurrected. Since the monsters were humans who were brought back to life, it follows that there would be a mass resurrection, since this is how the monsters that carry out the decree are created. More people being revived are linked to Jeong-ja’s prophecy about the end of the world. If everyone in the world became monsters or angels, it would mean the world had ended, just as Jeong-ja had said it would.

The world will finally end
Hell season 2 ended with several people receiving the prophecy that told them when they would die. Although the characters in the series had different decrees, the purpose of the decrees and mass demonstrations is to exterminate humanity. While Hell seasons 1 and 2 were building up to this point, season 2 didn’t show humanity being wiped off the face of the earth. If Hell season three happened, so it’s possible it would be about the moments leading up to doomsday.
Mass decrees, demonstrations and resurrections point to the end of the world. The humans in Hell I didn’t know much about the powers these supernatural beings possessed, which made it difficult for them to fight back. If humans don’t find a way to defeat the angels and monsters in Hell season three, this could very well be the end of humanity.

Jeong Jin-su will not return in Hellbound season 3
The last three episodes of Hell The first season focused on the world that Jin-su created after being subjected to the demo. In Hell In the first season, it was revealed that Jin-su received the decree that meant he was in hell. He created a new religion, the New Truth, to understand why he was destined for Hell despite having done nothing wrong in his life. The day the decree prophesied arrived and he was dragged to Hell by three huge monsters.
In Hell Season 2, Jin-su was resurrected, but he was a completely different person compared to who he was before he was resurrected. After his resurrection, the former president of New Truth began hallucinating and seeing the executioners who took him to Hell every time he looked in the mirror. He went in search of Jeong-ja, who he hoped would help him understand why he was hallucinating, but she couldn’t help him because she wasn’t going through the same thing. At the end of Hell Season 2, Jin-su is turned into an enforcer.
Jin-su probably completed his story and served his purpose Hell. He created a new religion that changed the world order, and it was thanks to him that humans discovered where the executioners came from. Given that Jin-su is an enforcer, there just doesn’t seem to be a place for him in the Hell season three, so the chances of him returning to the show are slim. However, it is still possible that Jin-su is in Hell third season if the show had a new storyline for it.

Park Jeong-ja can transform into an angel
Park Jeong-ja went through the demonstration in the third episode of Hell season 1. She was in Hell for eight years before being resurrected in the final episode of Hell season 1. After her resurrection, Jeong-ja was kidnapped by New Truth, who wanted to use her to start a new doctrine that would help them have control over the world again. Her time in Hell changed her, resulting in moments of incoherence.
When Jeong-ja was resurrected in Hellshe had the ability to see how someone would die. Considering how Jin-su’s transformation into an enforcer began, it’s possible that Jeong-ja’s new ability could evolve into something more. In Hell Season 2, Jeong-ja could only see how a person would die. Over time, Jeong-ja could predict the exact day and time of a character’s death, just like the angels in Hell.

Hellbound Season 3 Will Have Another Time Jump
Hell the first season had a time jump between the first three episodes and the last three episodes. The first three episodes of Hell season 1 explored the beginning of the decrees and subsequent demonstrations. The last three episodes took place eight years after Jin-su’s manifestation and explored the impact that the New Truth and Arrowhead had on the world.
Hell season 2 also used a time jump. In the first episode of Hellbound season 2, it is revealed that the New Truth kept Jeong-ja for four years in their facility. The fact that Toughie is four years old in the second season of Hell it also shows that there was a time jump. If Hell season three would happen, it is likely to use the same storytelling method as the first two seasons of the series. In fact, it would make sense if Hell season three used a time jump if the show explored the consequences of the mass decrees.

Jaehyeon’s fate will be explained
Jaehyeon is the baby who survived the death decree in Hell season 1. Hell Season 2 sees four-year-old Jaehyeon living at the Sodo facility, where he is under 24-hour surveillance. At the time, it was believed that Jaehyeon had not been subjected to the manifestation, so Sodo members were trying to find out how she survived. Hye-jin didn’t want Jaehyeon to grow up in these conditions, so she took the child and they started a new life.
Since Jaehyeon was one of those resurrected in Hellthere is a possibility that she could transform into a monster or angel or something that has never been seen in the series before. But if this does not become her destiny, Hell Season 3 could explore the resurrection process and why very little time passed between Jaehyeon’s death and his resurrection.

A new religious organization will replace the new truth
Hell is more than just a horror K-drama. The series explores themes such as religion and how humans react to things they don’t understand. When Jin-su started the New Truth society, he told people that those who received the decrees were sinners, and that’s why they would go to Hell. Jin-su was able to start a new doctrine and have a cult-like following because humans tend to turn to religion as a way to deal with things they can’t explain.
Given that the New Truth was practically dissolved at the end of Hell Season 2, a new religious organization will likely take its place. Mass decrees and impending destruction mean that people will look for a way to not only understand their fate, but also to find a way to cope. It’s possible they’ll look to Jeong-ja, as she’s the only known resurrected person looking for answers. This will open the door for a new religious organization to try to bring order to a world that is in chaos.
