Unsurprisingly, Fox canceled 9-1-1: Lone Starand season 5 will be the last, but that doesn’t mean fans will have to say goodbye to the characters (at least some of them) forever. The TV procedural drama created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear follows first responders, including firefighters, paramedics, police officers and 9-1-1 operators, located in Austin, Texas. As the name suggests, 9-1-1: Lone Star serves as a spin-off of 9-1-1which is in the middle of airing its eighth season (now on ABC), while 9-1-1: Lone Star is coming to an end with season 5.
Many suspected it was only a matter of time before Fox canceled the spinoff after 9-1-1 moved to ABC in season 7 and reports on failed salary negotiations by the cast. It also didn’t help that the production cost 9-1-1: Lone Star it was quite loud. So when the network announced that the procedural series was ending, many weren’t shocked. However, that didn’t stop viewers from mourning the loss of 9-1-1: Lone Star. Hopefully, though, the Season 5 finale (aka the series finale) won’t be the last time audiences see the Station 126 crew.
8
Owen Strand
Played by Rob Lowe
Owen Strand, by Rob Lowe, is the face of 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5, then, makes sense that his character would be one of the most likely to join the 9-1-1 cast. Owen is the captain of Station 126, having moved from New York to Texas at the start of the series. Unfortunately, Owen lost his entire fire department on 9/11 and was forced to rebuild the station. Lowe’s character moved to Austin to do the same thing for the 126, and it’s safe to say that his experience and skill are unmatched, making him a worthy candidate to be transferred to Station 118.
Perhaps the loss of Owen’s brother during the 9-1-1: Lone Star the season 4 finale calls for a change in his life and the series finale ends with Lowe’s character deciding to move away from Texas (and to California). More. 9-1-1Bobby Nash was trying to retire before returning to the 118 during Season 8, Episode 4. Bobby could change his mind once again, leaving the captain position open for Owen to take once 9-1-1: Lone Star ends after season 5.
7
TK Beach
Played by Ronen Rubinstein
Perhaps Rob Lowe is too busy to reprise his role as Owen Strand in 9-1-1 after the 5th season of Lone Star ends. However, his character’s son, TK Strand, played by Ronen Rubinstein, could easily be transferred to Station 118 in Los Angeles. TK just got married to his longtime love interest, Carlos Reyes, during the season 4 finale, and although they hit a rough patch at the beginning of season 5, the couple managed to come through to the other side and are stronger than ever. than ever.
So, if TK moved to Los Angeles after the procedural drama ended, Carlos would have to go with him (which would be very welcome, of course). The couple may be looking for a change of scenery after the events of season 5. As a result, they move to California. Since TK has already met some of the Station 118 crew (during unilateral 9-1-1: Lone Star crossing with 9-1-1 in the 2nd season of the spinoff), he has already joined and could easily get a job there in 9-1-1 Season 9 (if and when ABC renews the show).
6
Carlos Reis
Played by Rafael L. Silva
As mentioned above, if TK is going to Los Angeles, so is Carlos. Just like Owen and TK, Carlos Reyes, played by Rafael L. Silva, has been one of the main characters of 9-1-1: Lone Star from the beginning. He is an integral part of the Fox procedural drama series and is, without a doubt, one of the spinoff’s most beloved characters. Additionally, Carlos and TK’s relationship is a fan favorite among those who watch the show. 9-1-1 franchise. Consequently, it would be wise to transfer Carlos and TK to 9-1-1 as soon as the show ends.

Of all the characters in 9-1-1: Lone Star, Carlos and TK’s move to Los Angeles is probably the most believable. Carlos’ father was murdered during the 9-1-1: Lone Star season 4 finale, and he is consumed with solving the case and bringing those responsible to justice in season 5. Once Carlos finds the culprit (because he will), he may want a fresh start, leading him and TK to head out to California and join the 9-1-1 cast.
5
Tommy Vega
Played by Gina Torres
Even though Gina Torres didn’t join the cast until season two, Tommy Vega is still one of the most likable characters on the show. 9-1-1: Lone Star. Therefore, Tommy’s transfer from Station 126 in Austin, Texas to Station 118 in Los Angeles, California would be a widely welcomed change for the 9-1-1 producers. Torres shines in everything she does, and the actress undoubtedly brought a lot of intrigue and complexity to her character in the spinoff series.
Following Tommy’s proposal to Trevor in 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5, perhaps the couple will get married and decide to start this new chapter of their life in Los Angeles.
Torres has already technically made a cameo appearance 9-1-1 on ABC. During season 8, episode 2, “When the Boeing Gets Tough”, a flashback is shown to the funeral of Emmett Washington (Athena Grant’s ex-fiance). Torres voices the dispatcher who announces Emmett’s last call, saying:
“All units, clear the air for priority traffic. Dispatch calling 237, Officer Washington. This is the final call for 237. Officer Emmett Washington is 10-7. Thank you for your dedication, service and loyalty. You can rest assured.” We have the clock from here.”
Torres was simply voicing the role of the dispatcher rather than playing the role of Tommy in 9-1-1. So Tommy technically didn’t physically appear in the original series. However, following Tommy’s proposal to Trevor in 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5, perhaps the couple will get married and decide to start this new chapter of their life in Los Angeles. Of course, there is the issue of separating Trevor’s daughter from her mother, but this is a simple problem that can be solved.
4
Grace Ryder
Played by Sierra McClain
Unfortunately, Sierra McClain left 9-1-1: Lone Star before season 5, but that doesn’t mean she can’t return 9-1-1. The spinoff didn’t kill off her character, Grace Ryder, so she could easily return to the original show. Instead, the writers explained Grace’s absence by having her join Mercy Ships, an international religious organization that provides health care and life-saving surgeries to those who would not normally have access to medical care around the world. So, Grace could return to 9-1-1 universe at any time.
Idealistically, if Grace moves to 9-1-1Judd will accompany you.
Similar to TK and Carlos, the only problem with Grace joining the cast of 9-1-1 after season 8 is that her husband, Judd Ryder would probably have to join him as well. 9-1-1: Lone StarGrace’s explanation for Grace’s absence in Season 5 was already disappointing. It’s very different from Grace simply leaving her husband and young daughter. However, it would be even more unrealistic if Grace and Judd got divorced. Idealistically, if Grace moves to 9-1-1Judd will accompany you.
3
Judd Ryder
Played by Jim Parrack
As covered in Grace’s section, she and Judd, played by Jim Parrack, are a package deal. Both or neither of them can make the change of 9-1-1: Lone Star to 9-1-1 after the spinoff’s 5th season ends. Hopefully it’s the first, as Grace and Judd are a beloved couple not only in 9-1-1: Lone Star but also throughout 9-1-1 franchise. Their relationship is one of the most exciting to watch and root for (which is why Grace’s exit before season 5 was so heartbreaking).
It could also it would make sense if Judd was transferred from Station 126 in Texas to Station 118 in Los Angeles. Parrack’s character briefly retired at the beginning of 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 before returning to firefighting at the end of the three-part premiere. However, Judd couldn’t simply return to his role as lieutenant. Instead, he’s back at the bottom.
Parrack explained the decision to tell stories to TV Line“If you transfer from somewhere else and don’t retire, you can keep your status. But if you retire and come back, you have to start at the bottom.” Maybe Judd doesn’t want to go through the process again, and it will just be transferred to 118 in 9-1-1 to resume his lieutenant status.
2
Marjan Marwani
Played by Natacha Karam
Natacha Karam’s Marjan Marwani is one of the most underrated and courageous characters in 9-1-1: Lone Star and she should have been given the chance to shine in the original series. She is a dynamic character with so many layers, which makes her one of the most interesting to watch. More, Marjan’s status as a viral online personality suggests she would fit in perfectly in Los Angeles in 9-1-1 on ABC.
New episodes of 9-1-1 season 8 airs Thursdays at 8pm ET on ABC, and 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 airs Mondays at 8pm ET on Fox.
Marjan was no longer considered for the position of Lieutenant in Season 5, while Paul Strickland was awarded the promotion. Perhaps this decision influence Marjan to leave Texas and transfer to a different fire department (like Station 118). Only time will tell how Marjan’s story ends in 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5, though, and if the writers want to continue her story by adding it to the 9-1-1 cast.
1
michelle blake
Played by Liv Tyler
Yes, Michelle Blake didn’t appear in 9-1-1: Lone Star since the end of season 1. However, it would still be exciting to see Liv Tyler reprise her role from the original series, even if it happens more than five years after Tyler left. 9-1-1: Lone Star. Adding Tyler to 9-1-1 casting would also be a much easier task than trying to turn any of the characters that appear in Season 5 into the original TV drama series.

After all these years, Michelle may be ready to return to the world of first responders. However, instead of resuming her position at Station 126 in Austin, Texas, Tyler’s character could join 118 in California in 9-1-1. Tyler reprising his role as Michelle is quite unlikely, but it would still be one of the more interesting options when considering which 9-1-1: Lone Star the characters could cross over from the spinoff to the original show.
A spin-off series of 9-1-1, 9-1-1: Lone Star is an action drama series created for Fox. The series follows Rob Lowe as Owen Strand, a New York City firefighter who, after having rebuilt a team after the September 11 attacks, is brought in to form a new one in Austin, Texas.
