Kay’s Spider Inn Star Wars: Outlaws Allows you to quickly travel anywhere she needs to go, and while the base Speeder is nice, there are some upgrades that make your bike really stand out. Kay is a hacker, lockpick and general scumbag, and nothing is quite as useful as the ability to get out of sticky situations quickly. To keep your Spider performing at its best, be sure to choose the best upgrades you can find.
In order to upgrade the spider, You will need to find spider mechanics and experts to adjust it with new abilities. The first place you can upgrade your spider is in Mirogana on Toshara, which you’ll find pretty early on in the game’s story. Once you unlock the feature, however, you’ll still need the required resources and crafting materials to purchase the upgrades.

Spider Landing Repulsor
Take less damage from hard landings, and maybe add some speed
The Spider is equipped with a standard Spider repulsor system, which does very little to cushion the harder and higher jumps. With this upgrade, you take less damage after falling on your spider. Additionally, if you land just right, you can get a small boost on top of your landing. A landing is considered “perfect” as long as you land straight without hitting anything significant.

Spider Landing Repulsor |
Reduce damage from hard landings and add a small speed boost on perfect landings. |
|
This upgrade will come as a boon to players who enjoy taking non-traditional paths as they explore the game’s open-world areas. The reduced impact damage will allow you to fall further and, as long as you land well, get some speed off of your landing as well. While this is more of a quality-of-life improvement than anything else, reduced damage can also come in handy when you’re on the run from enemy fire.

Mol K-19 power generator
The base engine isn’t too bad, but extra speed and acceleration are always useful
Your Spider was originally equipped with the Moll K-19 Power Generator, which can make good speed, but may not feel as good as some of the later upgrades. Especially with the second upgrade, which increases your top speed on top of your acceleration, your Spider will feel faster and more efficient when running away from anything that might threaten you. Most of the upgrades for your spider will require crafting items that you can buy from certain merchants or scavengers, so keep an eye out for them in various shops.

This upgrade is basic, but useful in any situation where you are on your speeder. While you likely won’t get any reaction from hitting an NPC at top speed, don’t let that stop you from truly discovering what your spider is capable of. Whether you grab one upgrade level or two, increasing your top speed and top acceleration is always helpful.
5
CP-O steering system
Superior handling will help you stay alive
If you’re anything like me, handling will be one of the more important basic upgrades that you choose, mainly because the Spyder feels kind of clunky when you first get it. Upgrading your steering system will allow your Spyder to respond to your inputs more quickly, which will make your driving more accurate and efficient. If you’re already a professional Spyder pilot, this may matter less to you, but for those of us who require a bit more precision in our driving, these upgrades are lifesavers.

Some people think that open-world games can be too big, but better handling will make exploring the open areas of Star Wars: Outlaws Just a little easier. You can travel at top speeds without worrying about tight turns. Thanks to your steering upgrades, you’ll be better than ever at driving your Spyder, no matter where you are.

Duralumin chassis
Accidental bumps will damage you a little at a time, upgrading your Spider’s HP
If you’re not worried about upgrading your handling or landing repulsor, you’ll want to increase your damage resistance by upgrading your chassis.. Rather than immediately giving your spider more HP, this upgrade decreases the amount of damage you take. This is effectively the same thing as increasing HP, and your spider will also take less damage from enemy combatants.

If you’re having trouble finding the more elusive components for higher level upgrades, there are some hidden features inside Star Wars: Outlaws Which will make your treasure hunting easier. Keep an eye out for yellow paint marking pieces of the environments in the overworld as well as when flying in the Trailblazer. The yellow-marked areas often hide new, explorable areas or even hidden loot. One such case, hiding an HM Power Core, can be found below LunarGamings leader on YouTube.

Expert Unlock: Hydrorepulsor
Find another expert to travel over water
The Hydrorepulsor allows the Spider to travel over deep water, and is unlocked by the “The Droidsmith“Search line. At one point in the main questline, Gedeek will notice that you will need to drive over water to continue, unlocking the intelligence you need to find the expert scavenger. Following this questline all the way through will introduce you to the scavenger, Temmin Wexely, and will give you the ability to ride over deep lakes or rivers you come across.
Note that this ability is only really used to navigate Akiba’s watery terrain, so it’s not the most useful of the Expert upgrades. Because of its limited use case, the Hydrorepulsor upgrade is relatively low priority. However, this upgrade also costs nothing but quest completion and requires no upgrades to be in full use.
2
Expert Unlock: Speed Boost
For those of you who have a need for speed, there is one more way to make your speeder a little faster. To unlock the speed boost skill, you need to complete the expert quest “The Mechanic”. This quest will see you meet up with Selo, the mechanic, to steal some Spider upgrade components for you to use on your bike.

Following Horizon Gamings guide on YouTube, travel to the wind farm west of the Boulder Forest, place magnetic disruptors on the terminal outside, and break with the vents. You’ll need to do some sneaking and creative route finding, but follow the level and get through it with all the tools at your disposal to find the part Selo needs. Once you find it, return to it to unlock the speed boost automatically.
Once unlocked, this ability can be upgraded twice. Both times it will cost you a pretty penny, both in materials and components. You’ll have to decide for yourself if the second upgrade is worth it; On top of increasing the speed of the boost, it will also reduce the cooldown.

Expert Unlock: Repulsion Blast Coil
Do crazy tricks and enjoy increased maneuverability with the Jump Boost
After completing “The Mechanic” expert quest, you will automatically unlock the speed boost for Kay. Along with the automatic unlock, there is another skill you can unlock from the mechanic. In order to unlock it, you will need to complete a 60-meter-long jump without being injected. You can see I.Eat.Games Complete this feat on YouTube, but the best place to complete this task is the open world part of Toshara.

Find a clear place to land and hit a ramp as fast as you can control. As long as your jump lands safely, you’ll have no problem completing the unlock and getting the ability to jump in the air while on your speeder. These skills can also be upgraded, but only once, so as long as the initial skill is serving you well, it’s probably best to wait a bit to upgrade if you have the materials on hand.
