THE Power universe is known for its high-stakes drama, gritty action, and incredible performances, but one of its most underrated aspects is the franchise’s incredible theme songs. Having co-created the series alongside Courtney A. Kemp, 50 Cent was hugely involved in Powereven playing one of his most iconic characters, Kanan Stark. Although he was one of the show’s main antagonists, Kanan became popular with audiences, becoming one of the Powerbetter characters and even getting their own spinoff. Still, 50 Cent’s influence on the franchise didn’t end there, as he was a major part of every theme song.
Between PowerIn the album’s four shows, there were three opening songs, all performed by 50 Cent. Although Book of Power: II Phantom shares the same theme song as the original series, Creating Kanan and Force each has its own opening sounds that wouldn’t be possible without the legendary musician. Although it may be difficult to classify Powerbest shows, it’s even harder to compare theme songs. Each is an absolute hit in its own right, but one of 50 Cent’s classic songs manages to outdo the other two.

“Power Powder Respect” by 50 Cent (featuring Jeremih and Lil Durk)
Book of Power IV: Strength
Given how smooth and atmospheric Book of Power IV: StrengthThe opening song is that it seems difficult to place “Power Powder Respect” at the bottom of the list, but I prefer to think of it as an admirable third place. The song’s laid-back beat works incredibly well with 50 Cent, Jeremih, and Lil Durk’s vocals blending seamlessly to produce a catchy yet gangster sound. Fittingly, the song’s title and message perfectly capture the show’s plot, as Tommy’s move to Chicago aims to take control of the city’s drug trade for money and respect.
With confirmation that Book of Power IV: Strength Season 3 will be the last installment of the show, the lyrics may eventually come to fruition, but it will be sad to say goodbye to this incredible theme song. Unfortunately, despite having great verses from everyone involved and setting the tone for arguably Powerthe best spin-off, “Power Powder Respect” falls short of the franchise’s other openings. While it may be a relatively calm introduction to each episode and an equally good listen outside of the show, the song still lacks the same powerful identity as 50 Cent’s other two tracks despite its quality.

“Part Of The Game” by 50 Cent (featuring NLE Choppa and Rileyy Lanez)
Power Book III: Elevating Kanan
The upbeat, old-school vibe that “Part Of The Game” brings to Power makes the song more distinct from the franchiseand one of the best modern themes out there. 50 Cent delivers a spectacular verse and sings the memorable chorus, helping the track stand out from the franchise’s other openings. Additionally, NLE Choppa offers something different with his fast-flowing verses, while Rileyy Lanez’s vocals expertly tie the song together. Given Creating Kanan is set in the 90s, it makes perfect sense that “Part Of The Game” would have a less modern approach, but it still manages to match Powergeneral sound.
With Power Book III: Elevating Kanan renewed for season 4, the track’s legacy will only grow as each season transforms it into a more classic TV theme. The upbeat instrumental at the end of the intro features Rileyy Lanez’s voice over the top, which is the ideal way to start each episode, and Creating Kanan It wouldn’t be the same without him. There’s very little to criticize when it comes to the spinoff’s opening, but despite all three artists doing a fantastic job, “Part Of The Game” still falls short. Powerthe earliest introduction.

“Big Rich City” by 50 Cent
Power and Power Book II: Ghost
Power Performing “Big Rich Town” at two separate shows is no coincidence, and the franchise reuses the track for good reason. Maybe it’s the nostalgia of PowerThe debut from over a decade ago makes the song so iconic, or maybe it’s just so good, but 50 Cent’s original theme song remains the best of the bunch. It’s absolutely full of personality, and although 50 Cent attempted to remix the song alongside Trey Songz and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie in Season 6, it doesn’t hold a candle to the original, which returned just two episodes later.
The chorus describes the desperation of making it in a big city, even if it means breaking the law, which perfectly sums up Ghost’s journey throughout the show.
The clever lyrics, vibrant sound, and powerful beat combine to make “Big Rich Town” a franchise-defining song.and remains a fan favorite 10 years after its debut. The chorus describes the desperation of making it in a big city, even if it means breaking the law, which perfectly sums up Ghost’s journey throughout the show. Its use in Power Book II: Ghost it just makes the track more important as it symbolizes that Tariq is following in his father’s footsteps despite resenting him.
While it doesn’t quite reflect the overall history of the franchise and the kind of luxurious tone associated with Power, 50 Cent’s “Big Rich Town” is still a fantastic song that can be enjoyed without knowing anything about the series, and it’s definitely an underrated part of the artist’s incredible discography.
