Initially, Zexal It was not well received among fans of the franchise, due to its inexperienced protagonist. However, once Yuma learns to be a competent duelist, the series becomes notably better. His investigation becomes more difficult when he encounters an artificial intelligence known as AI.

While the virtual creature may not be the best partner he could have asked for, it serves as the first clue to uncovering the Knights of Hanoi's goals, as well as the secrets of Yusaku's past. While the protagonist fights against his sworn enemies, new villains enter the fray, complicating the mission to save Link VRAINS. This entry is filled with mystery, betrayal, and philosophical questions about what it means to have sentience. Several years after Pharaoh Atem returned to the afterlife during the original series' epilogue, Seto Kaiba opened a school where aspiring duelists could learn how to become professional players. Jaden Yuki, a cheerful and carefree student, is about to begin his journey to obtain the title of New King of Games, with his predecessor's blessing. During his first year as a member of Duel Academy's Slifer Red Dorm, the protagonist meets several other students who will push him to his limits, forcing him to become a better player.

However, classes and exams will be the least of Jaden's problems, as the Duel Academy will soon become the main stage for various threats to the human and Duel Monster Spirit worlds. From ancient deities controlled by a megalomaniac to Jaden's former best friend coming back to haunt him, the up-and-coming duelist will find himself fighting for his life throughout the entire series. Accompanied by his friends, teachers and his extremely powerful hero deck, Yuki will try to become the savior he was always destined to be.

GX is undoubtedly one of the best shows in the franchise, taking much of the positive aspects of the original anime and making full use of its potential. This series is iconic for Yu-Gi-Oh! fans for more than just its incredible coming-of-age story, as many of the decks introduced during this era have enjoyed success in competitive play over the years. Jaden's journey will shock and entertain fans, providing them with hours of fun. Still, viewers hoping to enjoy the series will need to know that the fourth season was never brought to the West, making its ending much darker.
