narutoThe list of characters goes on and on, and it's hard to think of anyone who is particularly bad. Such is the nature narutoThe character writing, which, despite all its flaws, is rigid, infallible and generally very careful. Not all narutothe casting is so perfect, though.
While narutoKishimoto's creator has shown his ability to write truly compelling characters, he's not immune to mistakes either. Some of the naruto's greatest characters completely miss the point of their own series, while others are extremely underestimated and only come to be appreciated thanks to the effects of time. Fans constantly argue about how much a certain character contributes to narutoThe plot of - the following characters have been gaining popularity or have always been one of the mainstays of the series, whether or not they deserve their popularity.

Kakashi deserves it
Team 7's mentor earns all his hype
When Team 7 is first formed, Kakashi is aloof and unconcerned. His cool demeanor is an anchor of the series as he slowly draws out the full potential of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. Although some of his moves are short-sighted - see, for example, teaching Sasuke his signature move, Chidori - Kakashi remains strong as one of the narutobetter teachers and leaders.
As the series develops, his role only becomes more established. The ANBU backstory gives a lot of depth and dimension to his character, and in iconic fights like his confrontation with Obito, it becomes clear why he is such a revered ninja. Even during his time as Hokage, his capable and self-aware performance is enough to rank him among narutoThe most effective Hokage of , despite his short tenure.
9
Sarutobi no
The First Hokage naruto Fans see the sets as a bad example (and it only gets worse)
The first Hokage who naruto fans actually get to see is notable for utterly failing Naruto himself. Sarutobi is incredibly ineffective at protecting and uplifting Naruto despite the circumstances of his youth, which becomes even worse later on as the story behind Naruto's ostracism becomes clearer. Sarutobi's emphasis on tradition also does Konoha no favors, as he has the privilege of reigning during a period of relative stability.
As the plot develops and Sarutobi's relationship with Danzo comes into focus, Sarutobi's passivity becomes a major problem for his character, painting him as completely indifferent to Konoha's atrocities. Some naruto Fans remember Sarutobi fondly because of his presence during the beginning of the series, as well as his role in training the legendary Sannin (of which Naruto's mentor Jiraiya and the following Hokage Tsunade were members). However, it is undeniable that Sarutobi is not a good role model for Hokage, and he does not deserve the affection he often receives.

Konan deserves it
Konan is one of narutoThe most interesting Shinobi
Shortly after her introduction, Konan disappeared for a bit narutohistorical. Recently, however, she has enjoyed a well-deserved resurgence of interest in narutofans. Konan obviously shares the tragic past of Nagato and Yahiko, the other two founding members of Akatsuki who were taken in and trained by Jiraiya after Konoha's military operations left them orphaned in the rubble. Konan is a special case, for several reasons.
Firstly, although Nagato's indulging in Naruto's Talk no Jutsu is something that fans have argued about for years, Konan takes it upon herself to make it a noble mission to see through Nagato and Naruto's conversation about hope and progress. Returning to Amegakure, his fight with Obito is based on displays of his skills in the Pain attack, proving that his unique paper jutsu is one of the coolest and most beautiful types of jutsu of all time. naruto. If we consider how Konan also pokes a hole in dominant narratives about Konoha's benevolence, it's clear that she deserves every second in the spotlight.
7
Jiraiya doesn't
Jiraiya's impact is minimal, even if his legacy is substantial
Jiraiya, on the other hand, can be caught or left. Some fans are turned off by his perverted behavior, but the fact that he doesn't deserve the hype around him has nothing to do with it. The simple fact is that Jiraiya, while written with empathy, is largely ineffective. He takes Naruto on pivotal journeys and teaches him important skills, and that's great. However, his obsession with shinobi ideals and blind devotion to Konoha causes him to constantly abandon people - be it Tsunade or the orphans of Amegakure.
Not to be misunderstood, Jiraiya's death scene is certainly one of the narutothe best and most exciting moments. The series does a more than capable job of making fans fall in love with Jiraiya, and that's the problem at hand, really. Jiraiya lacks the depth and real character development to live up to the legacy built for him, leaving fans truly in love with Jiraiya's dream.
6
Rock Lee deserves it
narutoThe most inspiring character in is the true underdog
Rock Lee is an incredible exploration of how unfair narutothe energy system really is. In a world where some degree of jutsu capability is the norm, Rock Lee effectively comes across as a super intriguing (and possibly unintentional) representation of disability. Either way, in a series that almost fills itself with underdogs in the form of Naruto and Sasuke, Rock Lee inspiringly shows what it truly means to be an underdog.
Rock Lee's gentle demeanor, cheerful personality, and steel will have led fans to absolutely adore him. It represents the kind of inspiring growth and development that naruto was always intended to stand out, and although it is sidelined later in the series, it still has some impressive and compelling moments in it. Naruto: Shippuuden. Blessed with the honor of one of narutobest fights thanks to the confrontation with Gaara, Rock Lee always comes straight to the end, when he makes a convincing defense against Madara, showing what narutothe story of willpower and determination has everything to do with it.
5
Neji no
Whiny and cruel, Neji fails to fulfill his potential
Neji, on the other hand, never fully grows into his position within naruto. By the time he apparently begins to develop as a character naruto he was already on his way to forgetting most of Konoha's supporting cast. Because of this, he is constantly overshadowed by his arrogant behavior and, most importantly, his cruel treatment of Rock Lee.
Fans often lament Kishimoto's use of Neji's death to bring Naruto and Hinata together, and there's a worthy complaint there. While Naruto: Shippuuden shows compelling glimpses of Neji's potential as a character, it's never quite realized enough to give the death scene its full impact. On the contrary, the fact that Neji could simply be thrown away to make a certain ship a reality shows how unimportant his character really had become at that point in the series.
4
Deidara deserves it
No Ninja exemplifies better narutoOpposite
Deidara is a wonderful character whose flamboyant love for the art of explosions has cemented him in the minds of fans for years. Perhaps the most interesting thing about Deidara, and the reason he deserves so much fanfare, is that he simply stands in complete opposition to the shinobi order. Akatsuki has become an umbrella group for the outcasts of the shinobi world, and Deidara exemplifies this. He cares little about shinobi ideals or invented concepts like the Will of Fire - he only exists for what he loves, and that's explosions. In narutoworld, apparently there is no greater sin than this.
3
Obito no
Sudden and planned changes become diluted narutoAntagonists of
Another of Akatsuki's most memorable members, Obito, doesn't live up to his reputation. Your role in narutoThe plot of is carefully designed for a long time, but the payoff is limited. While his history with Kakashi and Rin is compelling, it doesn't sufficiently explain why he acts the way he does.
To make matters worse, his personal sense of grief does not have the same gripping, world-changing importance as, say, Yahiko's noble idealism in founding Akatsuki, Nagato's acute sense of grief developed in direct response to the shinobi world, or Madara's political stance against oppression was formed over many decades of experience. It's not that her pain is invalid, it just seems, from a distance, like an extreme change compared to other characters' motivations. Obito is an unconvincing great antagonist and does not deserve the recognition he has achieved.
2
Sasuke deserves it
The last of the Uchiha has an incredible character arc
Sasuke, simply put, is one of the best and most definitive shōnen characters in recent history. He effectively redefined the stakes of rivalries by virtue of the fact that his rivalry with Naruto carries implications that affect the entire ninja world. He is also an incredible combatant, with Sasuke's fights being some of the most narutobest moments.
Some fans feel that Sasuke's development was artificial, while others feel frustrated by his complete inability to communicate. Sasuke's characterization isn't perfect, but the question is whether he deserves his popularity. By virtue of its sheer impact on the way anime rivalries work in the context of its setting, Sasuke's compelling - if sometimes melodramatic - characterization is one of the reasons naruto It's so irresistible.
1
Minato no
Naruto's Father Is Really Uninspiring in Hindsight
If Sasuke is an anchor to Naruto's identity as a character, Minato later becomes one as well. The difference is that Minato doesn't necessarily deserve the level of popularity he gets. One could easily argue that Minato being Hokage harms narutooppressed themes, but there's another big reason why Minato doesn't necessarily deserve his popularity.
Simply put, as Hokage, he didn't do much. An entire legend is built around Minato, and admittedly, his and Kushina's sacrifice to save Konoha is only paralleled in emotional impact by his timeless bond with his son. In terms of what the series canonically lays out, Minato's impact as Hokage doesn't seem to go much further than that, and although he is painted as a wonderful Hokage with a tragically short life, his actions don't live up to that reputation. Unfortunately, this seems to be a common story for narutowhere there are as many myths as realities that define its extensive cast.
