3 things new official Star Wars art reveals about season two

New promotional art for Andor season 2 brings some intriguing revelations before the final arc. Created by Tony Gilroy, Andor It's like nothing else in Star Wars the date; is an intense, character-driven drama that explores just how dark life under the Empire really was. Excitement is building for Andor season 2, scheduled for release in early 2025.

New promotional art for Andor Season 2 was revealed at D23 Brasil. It comes the day before a dedicated panel expected to focus on the future of Disney's biggest franchises, including Marvel and Lucasfilm, and the new promotional art is certainly a hint that Andor will be present - although it remains to be seen whether any footage shown will be in the public domain. Still, the art – and other details of the event – have already confirmed three major conclusions. First, here's the art now:

Cassian Andor appears to be in Coruscant dress

Is he undercover in the Imperial Capital?

THE Andor promotional art for season 2 see Diego Luna's Cassian Andor in much more elegant attire than we've seen him before; in fact, he is wearing something very similar to the formal attire worn by nobles on Coruscant, the galactic capital. The first season of Andor featured important subplots involving Stellan Skarsgård's Luthen Rael and Genevieve O'Reilly's Mon Mothma on Coruscant, and it's reasonable to assume that Cassian's story dovetails more closely with theirs in season two.

Andor The first season saw Mon Mothma attempt to champion the cause of a race known as the Ghormans. This was an important setup and will likely be explored in more detail in season two; Tarkin himself is known to have committed an atrocity against the Ghormans in canon, causing Mon Mothma to speak out more openly against the Empire. She would eventually be forced to flee Coruscant; Will Cassian Andor be the one to take her out of the world?

A First Glimpse of Yavin 4 Hints at Luthen on Andor's Season 2 Plot

Star Wars is returning to an iconic location from A New Hope

Cassian may be in what appears to be a formal Coruscant dress, but the background appears to match Yavin 4 perfectly. A moon orbiting the gas giant Yavin, Yavin 4 is a remote planet that became an important rebel base in the time of A New Hope. It was ideal for their purposes, in large part because of the iconic Massassi Temples, actually ancient structures built by a race enslaved by the Sith. Andor is leading towards Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and A New Hopeso season 2 will probably reveal how the rebels found this base.

It is likely that the explanation lies in Luthen Rael. A key figure in the nascent Rebel Alliance, Luthen operates on Coruscant under the guise of running an antiques store. Luthen's store featured countless Easter eggs and deep Star Wars references, including a surprising number to the Sith, leading many to speculate that he is a student of the Force. If that is the case, it would make sense that he would be familiar with Yavin 4 - and he is therefore the perfect man to discover that it would be a good rebel base.

Andor's trusty Droid is still by his side

What will happen to B2EMO?

B2EMO in Andor Episode 11

He does not appear in the promotional art, but Cassian Andor's trusty droid B2EMO is also confirmed for D23. The problem, of course, is that B2EMO isn't with Cassian at the time of the Rogue One. This suggests that something happens to B2EMO in Andor Season 2, and many have speculated that his processor will be used to reprogram K-2SO - a very different android that accompanies Cassian in the film.

Diego Luna stars as Cassian Andor in Andor, a Disney+ exclusive series set five years before Rogue One. The series follows the titular character as he rises from a humble thief to a revolutionary icon of rebellion against the empire. Cassian, a man trying to stay out of confrontation after the destruction of his world, is thrust into the central conflict as he naturally assumes the role of leader. Andor will explore the flourishing days of the Rebellion and highlight pivotal events from the Star Wars franchise before the construction of the Death Star.
