28 Years Later trailer confirms how the infected have evolved since the last film

The trailer for the long-awaited 28 days later and 28 weeks later sequence, 28 years laterhas finally been released and there is already evidence of how the virus evolved. After presenting a summary of how it all started, the 28 years later The trailer shows survivors living on an island equipped with extreme security measures. However, it doesn't take long for the infected to appear and begin attacking the main characters, who are horrified by what they see.

28 years later stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer and Ralph Fiennes in the lead roles, with many fans already speculating whether original star Cillian Murphy will also return. Each of the stars appears to have put on their horror game faces, as seen in the trailer fighting the infected and worshiping in some sort of cult. Along with the great cast, the 28 years later The trailer shows glimpses of some upgraded Infected who appear even more dangerous than in previous installations, confirming that in the intervening years, the Infected have evolved to become even more dangerous.

3 big clues that those infected have become stronger 28 years later

There are several details missing from the previous films

Node 28 years later trailer, a scene of the Infected in a forest appears to show a creature that is much larger than the Infected from the previous two films, and appears to be pulsing or beating in some way. Additionally, in an earlier clip, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and the teenager he was with are seen running away from an infected man, but their heads only reach the stomachs of the infected who chase themproving that the evolution of the Rage virus allowed the number of infected people to increase over time.

THE 28 years later The trailer also brings back some of the military themes from the previous two, as many of the sequences shown involve soldiers shooting infected people in dark passages. In one of these scenes, as the soldiers search the dark for the infected, someone is grabbed by something from above and quickly lifted into the airdisappearing into the darkness.

Likewise, in the same sequence, a soldier is shown looking in horror as something grabs his friend. Clearly, Whatever was with them in the dark was big and strong enough to lift a grown man. These scenes prove that while the small community lived on the Holy Island in 28 years laterthe infected were evolving on the continent.

28 weeks later it has already caused the evolution of the rabies virus

This evolution was previously hinted at in the changes between the first and second films.

While the new changes to Rage Virus are exciting for the public, the evolution makes sense given the small changes that have already occurred between 28 days later and 28 weeks later. In the original film, the infected didn't seem to have any ability to think logically or function in the same way as humans. However, this changed in the second film with the character of Robert Carlyle. Carlyle's character Don is infected but retains some reasoning abilityas becomes clear when Don continues to follow his children after they become infected.

28 weeks later proved that the Rage virus had the ability to evolve because Don's wife and children were able to develop a sort of immunity to it, while still acting as carriers.

Not only does Don's ability to recognize his children and follow them after being infected point to an evolution of the Rage virus, but also children themselves also promote this change as carriers. 28 weeks later proved that the Rage virus had the ability to evolve because Don's wife and children were able to develop a sort of immunity to it, while still acting as carriers. This could also imply that humans were developing a resistance to the virus, so the virus continued to evolve and get stronger after that point in response.

28 years later, a stronger infection was needed to make the film more exciting

28 days later and 28 weeks later have become iconic zombie films since their release, but audiences never want a sequel that does the exact same thing as its predecessor. Instead of focusing on the same type of infected as the first two films, it makes sense that Danny Boyle and Alex Garland would update the premise to introduce monsters that will scare audiences in a new way.

Just as the fact that Don was able to recognize his children and track them around London added an extra layer of intrigue to the 28 weeks later, those infected in 28 years later are more exciting because of their increased size and strength. It will also be interesting to know whether, like Don, the newly infected have greater intelligence in 28 years lateras this could also increase the problems that the characters in the film will have to face.
