Throughout the original and Toy Story 2-4he grew to accept and then relish his place in Andy and Bonnie’s rooms. He was heroic, funny, and moving, all qualities showcased in Buzz Lightyear’s best quotes, thanks in large part to Tim Allen’s inimitable performance.

While 2022 Light year didn’t provide as many memorable quotes from Chris Evans’ “real” version of the Space Ranger, Tim Allen’s plucky toy version of Buzz is a near-endless source of quotable dialogue and one-liners – including many in Spanish, thanks to Toy Story 3. Fortunately, Buzz Lightyear appears to return along with his best friend Woody in the next Toy Story 5. Until then, there are plenty of great Buzz Lightyear quotes, from the heroic to the ridiculous, to revisit before the Space Ranger toy returns.

“Years of gym training wasted.”
Toy Story (1995)
The scene of Buzz discovering that he is a toy after all is one of Pixar’s saddest and shakes his reality. As he fumes and begins to lament his situation, he talks about all the time wasted training to be a space ranger only to actually be a toy. It doesn’t occur to you that you’ve probably never done any Space Ranger training.

Woody finally finds Buzz and tries to get him out of this situation, but he is out of control.

Buzz eventually realizes that the air is breathable, but that doesn’t stop him from lecturing Woody about the dangers of opening an astronaut’s helmet. The seriousness of Buzz’s reaction when the toys don’t even need to breathe, his space guard acts even funnier.

In Toy Story 2Woody discovers that he is a beloved collector’s item and decides to start a new life in a toy museum where he can be cherished forever.
It’s Buzz who needs to talk some sense into Woody this time, and Buzz uses Woody’s own words to comfort him – “You. Are. A. Toy.”
