World of Warcraft has over a thousand mounts for players to collect across Azeroth and the surrounding areas. Many come from dungeon drops and raids, quests, or just plain luck finding rare creatures in the zones while leveling. Mount hunting has sometimes become a Blizzard-sanctioned event, with one of the 20th anniversary events centered on showing off new and old mounts to other players.
While some may be easier to achieve than others, knowing where to start is the best course of action. Whether players use detailed guides or blind luck to collect mounts, there will always be another set of reins to acquire. This list is a preview of some of the mounts that are easier to obtain for new and veteran players alike, even though they may require some time replaying dungeons.
10
Smoldering Ember Wyrm
Found in Legion update of the Karazhan raid, players return to the halls of the giant castle and find a secret that awaits them. This poorly guarded secret mount requires players to find several crystals inside a hidden timer and fight a boss for a chance at this shiny dragon. While this is not a guaranteed drop, This attack is easily completed alone and can be repeated weekly.
The Smoldering Ember Wyrm is one of two mounts available in the Karazhan raid, the other being Attumen’s Midnight in the stable areas. Screen speechThe guide on how to unlock the Smoldering Ember Wyrm goes into more depth about the time limits and other restrictions related to acquiring the mount. This can also be performed multiple times on alternate characters and once unlocked will be available account-wide.

Invincible
One of the trickiest to acquire on this list, Invincible is the elusive fall of Arthas, the Lich King in the raid on Icecrown Citadel of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion pack. Although this is a harder drop to achieve, this is one of the easiest attacks to get through aloneas it tends to be a straight race. Invincible is an undead horse with chains falling off its side and a ghostly aura, giving the rare horse a dramatic flair.
Just like the previous mount, players can roam Icecrown Citadel looking for Invincible on as many characters as they want by attack block, and it is available on the heroic difficulty of attacks. This simple horse is a great addition to any mount collection.

Sparkling Corridor
The Shimmermist Runner was introduced in Shadowlands expansion pack in the Ardenweald area. This mount is reminiscent of a unicorn with a curved purple and blue horn on top of its head. Even though it seems complicated, This mount can be acquired in just ten minutes of the player’s time. After traversing a maze in the deepest parts of Ardenweald, players simply need to defeat the spriggan creature that is terrorizing the poor Shimmermist Runner to receive the Shimmermist Runner’s Reins item.
This is one of the easiest mounts for players interested in horse-type mounts, without losing reputation to characters who side with the Alliance faction. There are no additional items, tricks, or timers required for this mount, it just takes a little time to find your way through the maze. A simple and beautiful addition to anyone’s mount collection.

Twilight Drake
No list about World of Warcraft it would be complete without a series of drakes involved, and the Twilight Drake tends to get overlooked when compared to its younger or rarer brethren. Also added to Wrath of the Lich King expansion, the Twilight Drake is dropped by Sarthariona massive black dragon that was once a formidable foe. The Twilight Drake is a Void fan’s dream, with shades of purple, black, and blue intertwined across the dragon’s frame and wings.
As another easy mount, the Twilight Drake is dropped from Obsidian Sanctum’s 25-man difficulty as long as players leave all three Drake mini-bosses in the room alive. This is a very easy task that just requires going straight to the boss in the center of the room.
6
Lord of Crows
This old school mount was added in Burning Crusade expansion, making the Raven Lord one of the oldest mounts on this list. The striking blue raven drops from the identically modeled boss, Anzu, in the Sethekk Halls dungeon in Terokkar Forest. The Reins of the Raven Lord item to acquire the mount only drops on the Heroic difficulty of the dungeonwhich doesn’t affect how simple assembly is now.
This older mount still carries with it a Strength Talent achievement, so players who also enjoy hunting for achievements will be happy to know that their scores will increase once they acquire this mount. The Raven Lord is a popular and still highly sought after mount, so the only real obstacle to acquiring it may be a bit of bad luck.
5
Blackhoof Ruinwalker
The Bleakhoof Ruinstrider is an underrated mount that is easy to get, as it it just takes a little patience instead of being really difficult. Many assemblies were included in the Legion expansion pack, but the mounts that were rewarded for achievements are particularly interesting. The Bleakhoof Ruinstrider is incredibly simple to obtain in the current expansions of the “…And Chew Mana Buns” achievement.
This achievement and mount can be acquired by defeating 2,000 non-trivial demons in the Antoran Wastes, Krokuun, and Eredath areas of the Broken Isles. This mount is also a reward for partially completing another achievement that grants players the title of “Demonslayer”. Players who take on this challenge and are successful will find their Bleakhoof Ruinstrider waiting for them safely in the mail.
4
Drake of the North Wind
A very easy mount to cultivate, The North Wind Drake is a rare mount that drops in the normal versions of the Vortex Pinnacle dungeon in the Uldum region. Introduced in World of Warcraftof Cataclysm expansion, the North Wind Drake and its other cardinal drake relatives are all easily acquired with some dedication and patience. This dungeon can be farmed ten times per hour normally, giving particularly dedicated players something fun to do.
The North Wind Drake is a blue-toned dragon that has silver armor and is similar to the East, West and South drakes that can be found in other areas in the zones added in Cataclysm. This mount also has a chance to appear when players open a Quantum Courser’s Reins item, as this gives any number of previous mounts, including this one.
3
Fast Black Shell
A shadowy companion to the Shimmermist Dreamrunner, the Swift Gloomhoof is a little harder to get. Dropped by a rare creature called a Night Mare that roams the base of a tree in Ardenweald, This mount requires a special item to be able to face the creature. It’s similar to the Shimmermist Runner, but is several shades of darker purple, even with the same notable leather grip it’s adorned with.
Swift Gloomhoof requires players to find some items scattered around Ardenweald and return them to Queen Ysera to create a dreamcatcher. Once players acquire the item, they will be able to fight Night Mare and the Swift Gloomhoof is a guaranteed item. It is a simple mount to acquire, requiring just a little patience.
2
Bronze Dragon
This mount is a classic addition to any mount collection and can be enjoyed by new players and veterans alike. What it lacks in modern elegance and smoothness, the Bronze Drake definitely makes up for in charm and ease of purchase. There is no need for multiple executions for this dragon, as it, like the Twilight Dragon, is a guaranteed drop as long as the boss is defeated.
To acquire the Bronze Drake, players must enter the Culling of Stratholme dungeon and fight the Infinite Corrupter. Everything else in the dungeon can be ignoredor easily flattened with an area-of-effect spell, making this run even faster. In total, it takes about 15 minutes to acquire this assembly if done efficiently.
1
Wild Seed Cradle
Returning to Ardenweald once again, the Wildseed Cradle is an incredibly simple mount that is entirely unique from the others on this list. This whimsical cradle transports players as they rest on soft blue cushions within bright purple leaves. Considered the most precious cargo in all of Ardenweald, All players need to do to get this beautiful ride is a few quests and scavenge for some items.
Sending players on an exploration of the Garden of Night and other more flowery areas of Ardenweald, players must collect five items to obtain the Cache of the Moon. This is a guaranteed Cache of the Moon mount and doesn’t take long to achieve, as all items are found within a short distance of each other in World of Warcraft.
