Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Sonic the Hedgehog 3!

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was released, and with confirmation that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is on the way, here are 10 villains who could replace Doctor Robotnik in the next film. Doctor Robotnik was the main villain of the first two Sonic the Hedgehog films, with him being a secondary antagonist alongside Gerald Robotnik and Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. It looks like the film series is moving away from using Ivo Robotnik as the main villain, meaning Jim Carrey's character could be replaced by these 10 characters in Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

Although there have already been three Sonic the Hedgehog films full of video game elements, the film series has barely scratched the surface of what's in the video game franchise. There are countless villains, enemies and stories from all over the world. Sonic franchise that could be adapted into a film, with the amount of Sonic the tradition that exists is surprisingly deep. Because of this, there are all kinds of villains who Sonic the Hedgehog 4 could take their pick, with any one of these 10 being a fantastic antagonist in the next film.

10

Chaos

Sonic Adventure

One of the most requested villains that could appear in Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and Sonic AdventureThe chaos. In the video games, Chaos is an immortal Chao who acts as one of the guardians of the Master Emerald, being the deity worshiped by the Knuckles Clan. However, Doctor Eggman attempted to utilize Chaos for his own purposes, with things going wrong and Chaos nearly destroying the world.

Chaos would be a logical extension of Sonic the Hedgehog story that has been created in the film so far. The Master Emerald and Chaos Emeralds played an important role in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3with the latest film even bringing to light just how dangerous Knuckles believes they are. The introduction of Chaos could finally show this, and the Chao Easter egg in the third film could be teasing Chaos' big screen debut.

9

Mephiles The Dark

Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)

Although 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog restarting video games may have become notoriousintroduced many interesting new elements to the franchise, such as the popular villain Mephiles the Dark. In the game, Mephiles is half of the sun god Solaris, with the deity split from another powerful entity known as Iblis. After Eggman and Rouge the Bat accidentally free Mephiles, he begins his time travel plan to conquer the world, causing Sonic to have to stop him.

Mephiles is an epic villain and one of the few ways to make the scale of the film series even larger later Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Almost all the pieces are in place to bring Mephiles' story into the next film, with the introduction of Rouge being the last major element that would be needed in the upcoming film. Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

8

Silver the hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)

If Mephiles the Dark is present Sonic the Hedgehog 4So it only makes sense that the next film would also feature Silver the Hedgehog as the antagonist. In the game, Mephiles convinces Silver to travel through time and fight Sonic, with Silver believing that Sonic is at the root of the post-apocalyptic future. He eventually realizes that this is not the case, but only after Sonic and Silver become enemies at the beginning of the game.

Silver would follow a similar arc to what Knuckles and Shadow did in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 respectivelywith both characters starting out as villains before being won over to Team Sonic. Silver would also introduce time travel to the world of Sonic the Hedgehog films, something that has been used several times throughout the video game franchise.

7

Fang the hunter

Sonic The Hedgehog Triple Trouble

If Sonic the Hedgehog 4 wants to tone things down a bit after the world-destroying threats of the two most recent films, than a fun villain that could be introduced is Fang the Hunter. Fang is a bounty hunter frequently hired by Doctor Eggman to hunt for Chaos Emeralds, although he does not have many ambitions beyond the accumulation of riches.

The introduction of Fang the Hunter (also known as Fang the Sniper) would be continue the use of Chaos Emeralds in Sonic the Hedgehog filmssomething that makes sense after the story of Sonic the Hedgehog 3. However, it would also move away from the focus on Jim Carrey's Robotnik characters, with the introduction of an anthropomorphic main antagonist possibly being a breath of fresh air.

6

Rogues of Babylon

Sonic Knights

Another fun group of anthropomorphic villains that could be introduced in Sonic the Hedgehog 4 they would be the Rogues of Babylon. The Babylon Rogues are the team of villainous pilots of the Sonic Knights series, consisting of Jet the Hawk, Wave the Swallow and Storm the Albatross.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was the first film truly about Team Sonic, with teamwork and conflicts between Sonic, Tails and Knuckles being a constant presence throughout the story. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 could expand on this idea by introducing the Babylon Rogues, with them acting as a thematic counterpart to Team Sonic. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles each have a counterpart in Jet, Wave, and Storm, creating an incredibly interesting dynamic in Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

5

Black Doom

Shadow the hedgehog

Shade the Hedgehog's future in Sonic the Hedgehog films is uncertain, as it is unknown whether Keanu Reeves will return as a supporting character in a fourth film or possibly his own spin-off film. However, making Shadow a secondary protagonist alongside Sonic in Sonic the Hedgehog 4 It would be a smart way to give the character the prominence he deserves, and the best way to do this would be to make Black Doom the main villain.

Black Doom is the alien leader of the Black Arms army as well as being one of the creators of Shadow the Hedgehog, having given his blood to Gerald to complete the project. When Black Doom led the Black Arms to later conquer Earth, however, Shadow the Hedgehog rebelled, with him realizing he would have to fight the alien army to save the planet.

4

The Deadly Six

Sonic Lost World

An image of Sonic running along walls smiling as the Deadly Six chase him.

Sonic Lost WorldThe Deadly Six's team is one of the most memorable groups of villains to be introduced to the modern world. Sonic the Hedgehog gameswith them returning in later games as Sonic Forces. Master Zik, Zavok, Zazz, Zeena, Zomom, and Zor are an incredibly powerful group of enemies who were freed by Eggman, with the scientist hoping to control the team. However, they soon went rogue, threatening to destroy the world unless Sonic intervened.

The Deadly Six are much appreciated by fans of Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, then introducing them into Sonic the Hedgehog 4 it would be a big deal. While they may be a little strange for the state of the movies at the moment, moving away from the human and technological villains would be a nice change of pace for the film series.

3

The Titans

Sonic Frontiers

If Sonic the Hedgehog 4 wants to stick with technology-based villainsthen Sonic Frontiers' Titans would be a great addition. The Titans are a race of ancient giant robots, coming in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Their enormous scale makes them difficult to take down, although Sonic and his friends manage to do so throughout the story. Sonic Frontiers.

A race of futuristic robots would be perfect based on Sonic the Hedgehog 3post-credits scene, possibly linked to the Metal Sonic story. Metal Sonic could be a member of the Titans in live-action Sonic the Hedgehog series of films, with the fourth film uniting the stories of Metal Sonic, Amy Rose and the Titans to weave one giant epic.

2

Infinite

Sonic Forces

Infinity in Sonic Forces

While the Titans are cool, an even better villain from a recent Sonic the Hedgehog the game would be infinite. Infinity is the main antagonist of Sonic Forceshe being the incredibly powerful leader of the Jackal Squad. Using the Phantom Ruby, Jackal helped Eggman bring down the world, expanding the Eggman Army and creating the authoritarian universe seen in Sonic Forces.

Infinite is a step up from Shadow the Hedgehog in terms of power levelalthough he is not as powerful as Mephiles or Chaos. This makes Infinite a perfect complement to Sonic the Hedgehog 4with his addition being an understandable raise of the stakes, but still not making things too big.

1

Eggman Denies

Sonic Race

If Sonic the Hedgehog 4 wants to move away from main Ivo Robotnik, a perfect replacement would be Eggman Nega. Eggman Nega is a descendant of Ivo Robotnik from about two centuries in the future, being a much more competent version of Ivo. Although Nega looks and acts similar to the main Eggman, he is a much greater threat, with his advanced technology and superior methods making him much more dangerous.

It has been theorized that Metal Sonic's army Sonic the Hedgehog 3The post-credits scene was sent from the future, although the films have yet to reveal who sent it. However, an army of robots designed to be like Sonic sounds exactly like Robotnik's modus operandi, which means a version of Robotnik from the future would be the perfect addition to the films afterward. Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
