A lot has happened in general NCIS universe leading up to Season 22, and there are a few key details to remember. NCIS has been on television for over two decades and has a rich history that can influence the ever-changing narrative. Parker rushed into the situation, claiming to be her surgical partner so he could follow the kidnappers straight to the killer and protect Clara. Although their relationship began as hostile, Parker and Clara developed chemistry throughout the entire episode.

The story must be fresh in the audience’s mind because NCIS could bring back Logan in season 22. Parker and Clara may see each other outside of work, and the series introduces new relationships that viewers can see outside of the bullpen. The storyline comes late for Parker, whose relationship history is limited to his divorce from Vivian Kolchak (Teri Polo). Parker had a pleasant relationship with Clara, but the secret of Lily Parker overshadowed this romance. A budding romantic connection may be just what Parker needs to open up about his childhood.

NCIS The Season 21 finale was important for some characters, namely Special Agent Jessica Knight. ‘Reef Madness’ presents a heartbreaking storyline for Parker and Jess as they fight for her life Knight faced a major career decision. Early in the season, NCIS Director Leon Vance offered Knight a promotion to the position of Chief REACT Training Specialist. This position was important to Jess, whose NCIS background prior to joining MCRT was with REACT.

Knight struggled with the decision throughout the finale, and it caused tension with her boyfriend Jimmy Palmer as the couple apparently called for a split. This story is very important to remember because it will drive much of the narrative in Season 22. Knight actress Katrina Lowe will remain on the show given her potential. NCIS exit, meaning she will likely rejoin MCRT. Knight’s return means she and Jimmy must reconcile their differences in order to work together, so Knight’s promotion is necessary to remember to hit the road. NCIS Season 22.
