Circus Tycoon works like many other games in the tycoon genre on the Robloxallowing players build your own circus tent from scratch, managing the space, hiring artists and playing minigames. Players are placed in an IKEA virtual store and shown “how careers are made differently at IKEA.“The game works like a virtual preview of what it would be like to work in a real IKEA, have players help customers, prepare the showroom, cook and serve Swedish meatballs, decorate sets, and manage a team of workers. All of these tasks earn EXP and help players level up and progress through the ranks through promotions.
When the game was preparing for launch, in June 2024, the store still offered several paid places within the virtual store (for players aged 18 and over). Unfortunately, even the promise of real money wasn’t enough to attract a wide audience. The game currently has a paltry 17,000 likes, a mere fraction of its 1 million likes. 3008, the other (unofficial) IKEA-themed game on Roblox, where players build bases and try to hide from corrupted workers in a (legally distinct) “unusually large furniture store.“
