Black Clover is an exciting shōnen series with a lovable protagonist, exciting fights and an excellent magic system. Each character in Black Clover have their own unique set of spells and abilities that they bring to the battlefield. Magic Knights have natural affinities for magic and can extract even stronger spells from their Grimoires, creating some of the most impressive fights of all time. Black Clover. Most types of magic are also more than they seem, giving characters the chance to break through their current limits and defeat their enemies with style.
Magic types define their characters in Black Clover. If a character has a weak magic type, they probably won’t be able to do much in battle. With a strong type of magic, however, certain Black Clover characters can start wars alone or, in the case of Julius Novachrono, save the lives of everyone in the Clover Kingdom.

Gravity Magic
Gravity magic devastated the black bulls
Gravity Magic is a simple type of magic in Black Clover. It allows its user, Dante Zogratis, the ability to manipulate the surrounding gravity. He uses it with brutal proficiency when he goes to capture Yami. Dante’s Gravity Magic allows him to cast spells such as Heavy Infighting and Heavy Infighting Gladiator, two spells that allow you to increase and decrease your own gravity while fighting. When he throws a punch, he lowers his own gravity to increase his speed. Just before it hits, however, he increases the gravity so that the blow lands with even more force.
Gravity Magic makes Dante look like the king he wants everyone to think he is. One of Dante’s signature spells in Presence of the Demon King, where the leader of the Spade Kingdom increases gravity so much that his opponents can’t help but bow.

Kotodama Magic (Magic of Words)
Strong enough to face Licht and Lumière

Zagred’s Kotodama Magic was strong enough to fight Lumière, Licht, Yuno and Asta at the same time. Even without his Grimoire open, Zagred was able to dominate his enemies with nothing more than a few words. Kotodama Magic works by giving the user the ability to make their speech come true. Although Zagred cannot order his enemies to simply die, he can use Kotodama Magic to throw them across the room like a rag doll. Zagred also used his magic to summon a trident while fighting the first Wizard King, cutting off his arm in the process.
Zagred can also use his magic to summon a magic-absorbing field, nullifying all attacks that come his way. If not for the unison of the strongest Magic Knights of the past and present, Zagred and his Kotodama magic wouldn’t have been stopped for long.

Blood Magic
An incredible attack and defense
Both the Witch Queen and Vanica Zogratis use Blood Magic and are two of the most powerful women in the world. Black Clover because of that. Blood Magic is unique because it is great for both offense and defense. Although Yami’s Dark Magic only really allows him to attack, the Witch Queen used her Blood Magic to break Asta’s curse. She was also able to manipulate her body like a puppet because of the spell, giving her a third layer of usefulness. If it weren’t for Asta’s Anti Magic, the Black Bulls would be at the Witch Queen’s mercy.
Vanica uses Blood Magic in a threatening manner. She can summon her Red Beast to quickly dominate battles. Because it is made of blood, it can heal you before your opponents have a chance to do real damage.

Thread magic
Vanessa’s magic rewrites reality
Thread Magic is one of the most exciting and unique types of magic in Black Clover. It is used by one of the most powerful characters in black clover, Vanessa Enoteca. Your Thread Magic gives you the ability to rewrite your own destiny. If one of her allies is about to be decapitated, she can use her red cat, Rouge, to gently hit him, changing the situation as if it never happened. She uses her ability perfectly against the Witch Queen when her former leader controlled Asta.
Even outside of changing reality, Thread Magic is useful in all types of situations. Vanessa can use it to sneakily capture her enemies, give her allies a place to land if they fall, and she can even use it to control people, just like the Witch Queen’s Blood Magic. Vanessa is still learning how to use her Thread Magic, but after mastering it, she will easily be one of the strongest characters in the series.

Space Magic
Zenon uses space magic mercilessly
Like Thread Magic, Spatial Magic is more than a set of offensive spells. Space Magic is one of the most commonly used types of magic in the series, with each character putting their own spin on their spell set. Some of the most popular characters to use Space Magic include Zenon Zogratis, Finral Roulacase, Langris Vaude, Galleo, Rhya, and Valtos. Finral’s Space Magic specializes in transportation. He is able to manipulate his and his opponent’s positions on the battlefield to create advantages for his allies.
Langris, on the other hand, uses his Space Magic in a lethal way. He is able to teleport anything his Spatial Magic touches and ceases to exist completely. Zenon Zogratis uses his Spatial Magic in conjunction with his Bone Magic to teleport around the battlefield and Defeat your enemies before they even knew he was coming.

Spiritual Magic
A magical and strong enhancer in its own right
Spiritual Magic stands out in Black Clover as it is its own type of magic and an enhancement to a character’s current magic type. There are only three spirits currently in the series: Sylph, the Wind Spirit, who serves Yuno, Salamander, the Fire Spirit, who serves Fuegoleon, and Undine, the Water Spirit, who serves Lolopechika. Each of the spirits gives their hosts new abilities and They can also combine with their hosts to create powerful combination spells.
Some of Yuno’s most powerful spells occur when he uses Sylph for assistance. He can cast Sylph’s Breath to send a massive bullet of wind towards his opponents or use the Spirit of Zephyr to summon a giant two-handed sword that can cut your enemies in two. Lolopechika and Undine combine for Ludic Sanctuary, a powerful Spirit Magic spell where the duo traps their enemy in a huge body of water, diluting their opponent’s magic.

Light Magic
Fast and strong in equal measures
Light-based abilities are generally some of the strongest in whatever series they’re inand Black Clover is no exception. There aren’t many characters in the series who can manipulate light, and those who can are some of the strongest. The most notable user of Light Magic in Black Clover is the first Wizard King, Lumiere Silvamillion Clover. He uses his Light Magic both offensively and as a means of transportation, making him one of the fastest Magic Knights in history.
One of Lumiere’s unique light abilities is Avior’s Lamp, where Lumiere focuses a massive amount of light around himself before sending it directly at his opponent. It is powerful enough to stop the movement of entire tornadoes. Patry was also able to use Light Magic when he was reincarnated, and was able to use it well enough to kill the current Wizard King, Julius Novachrono.

Black magic
Yami’s magic crosses dimensions
Yami Sukehiro is one of the coolest characters in the anime, and his Dark Magic abilities only make him cooler. Of all kinds of magic in black clover, Dark Magic may be the most versatile. Yami can use his Dark Magic offensively, defensively and even in a complementary way. However, it is most powerful when Yami is at his limit, as the Captain of the Black Bulls is always capable of exceeding his limits for his squad. Yami’s Dark Magic is so powerful that it can traverse entire dimensions.
One of Yami’s most powerful Dark Magic spells is his Dark Cloaked Dimension Slash: Equinox, where Yami uses the surrounding mana to further enhance his Dark Cloaked Dimension Slash, cutting everything in this reality and the next in half. He can also use his Death Thrust to nearly blast your enemies with Dark Magic.

Time Magic
Julius can defeat his opponents before the battle starts
Time Magic is easily one of the strongest Magic types in the series just in concept. Julius Novachrono, the only user of Time Magic, can end battles before they even begin. His Time Magic is so fast that it can even capture Light Magic. Julius didn’t display many of his spells because it wasn’t necessary. By using his Chrono Stasis spell, he can capture anyone who is a ball of time, preventing them from doing anything. When Patry tried to use his Light Magic to kill everyone in the Clover Kingdom, Julius stopped him with a single spell.
Time Magic is so powerful that Julius used it to cheat his own death. He spent so much time fighting his enemies that, after dying, he was resurrected as he was when he was 13 years old. Time Magic is the only magic in the series that has been proven to defeat Light Magic and death.and who knows what else the Wizard King might do with it from now on.

Anti Magic
Asta’s antimagic can negate all types of magic
Asta’s Anti Magic is the strongest type of magic in Black Clover. Even if his opponents use Blood Magic to manipulate his body, Time Magic to freeze him, or Light Magic to attack him, he can negate everything with a single strike of his sword. His Anti Magic surpasses all other types of magic in its very nature. Asta uses his Anti Magic best through his demonic swords. His Demon Destroying Katana, gifted to him by Black Bull Captain Yami Sukehiro, can send flying slashes of Anti Magic towards his enemies and their spells.
The Demon Dwelling Sword, formally used by one of the best elves in the anime Licht, can absorb spells and send them against your enemies. While all of his swords allow Asta to use his Anti Magic, none are as exciting as the Demon Slayer Sword. It is a sword so big that Asta can use his Anti Magic to fly over it. He can also increase the sword’s size tremendously, taking down his opponents in one fell swoop, just like his captain would.
