Despite being the biggest franchise in the history of cinema, the UCM It's not foolproof and there are some resolutions you'll need to make in 2025 and beyond. The MCU timeline is in the middle of the Multiverse Saga and has stumbled a few times sinceAvengers: Endgame. No matter what, the MCU has proven time and time again that it can still produce a hit, with a few films in recent years being some of its biggest hits ever.
There's a lot to like about the MCU's release slate, with some of the biggest films the franchise has ever made on the horizon. Still, the MCU will need to clean up some things and get a few others right to really give this second saga a chance to end on a high note. Here are ten Resolutions the MCU Should Make in 2025 and Beyond.
10
Reduce your film and TV production budgets
High budgets make it harder to make a profit
One of the biggest losses for the MCU in recent years has been bloated production budgets.. Of course, COVID is partially responsible for some of these massive numbers, but films like The wonders It shouldn't cost $270 million and an Ant-Man movie shouldn't even come close to a $300 million budget. It's unsustainable for Marvel Studios and causes some of these films to be financial failures (or underperform) when they can't even recoup their huge production costs.
Furthermore, the MCU has shown that bigger budgets don't make projects better. When looking at the television side of things, Agatha all the time was the cheapest MCU series to date, while Secret Invasion it was the most expensive. Only one of those series was good, and it definitely wasn't the one that used AI opening credits, despite it having a larger production budget than almost all of the MCU films.
9
Finally assemble the Young Avengers
The Young Avengers have now been five years in the making
One thing the MCU needs to do (and hopefully soon) is finally reunite the Young Avengers. When Phase 4 began, it seemed like Marvel Studios really wanted to start laying the groundwork for the youngest team of superheroesas several members have been featured in various Multiverse Saga projects. All of the major pieces are essentially on the board except for Tommy, which feels like the perfect time for the MCU to finally bring these younger heroes together as the Young Avengers.
THE Avengers the franchise has consistently been the MCU's biggest franchise in terms of box office, as all four films are in the top five. A Young Avengers movie might not reach those exact heights, but there's a lot of potential for a team full of younger heroes that could essentially function as Marvel's version of the Teen Titans. The MCU has shown a willingness to have multiple superhero teams with the Thunderbolts, Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers; Maybe it's time to include the Young Avengers.
8
Have Another Billion Dollar Blockbuster
Big hits like Spider-Man and Deadpool reinforce the MCU
When Phase Three was in full swing in preparation for Avengers: Infinity Warit seemed like the MCU could do no wrong, as the Infinity Saga had a huge number of films that grossed well over $1 billion at the box office. Publish-Avengers: Endgame There were three, two of which were Spider-Man.and the other had Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reprising their iconic MCU roles this time around.
A big test for this will be to see how the public reacts to The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
There were also a few more failures in the Multiverse Saga, and it could be good for the MCU to reach those enormous financial heights again, realizing the potential the saga always had. A big test for this will be to see how the public reacts to The Fantastic Four: Getting Started. If this film were to come close to the coveted $1 billion mark, it could mean very good things for the future of the MCU, where they are one of the premiere teams alongside the X-Men.
7
Emphasize quality over quantity
It doesn't matter how many MCU projects launch in 2025 if fans don't respond well
One of the MCU's biggest mistakes was the drastic increase in production after the conclusion of the Infinity Saga. It often felt more like quantity over quality, which resulted in many projects not being as strong as they could have been as Marvel Studios seemed to have spread themselves too thin. One of the biggest culprits for this change were the MCU's various TV productions. The TV schedule, along with a steady stream of movies, was huge, and that much was obvious.
Since that initial push, the MCU seems to have slowed down, especially in 2024, where only one film has been released and the slate isn't packed with shows. One thing to be cautious of in the future is that Marvel Studios will have at least six TV series released in 2025 alone. This doesn't seem to be in line with the idea of quality over quantity that should be the focus, but thankfully the crowded roster doesn't cause too many problems with Marvel Studios trying to do too many things at once.

Make Daredevil: Born Again as many seasons as possible
Charlie Cox's Daredevil is a proven fan favorite
To further explore the television side of Marvel Studios, many of their shows felt like long films, only having one season with nothing on the horizon. Disney has said it intends to return to a more traditional style of television, with showrunners and multiple seasons. Daredevil: Born Again seems to be the one that benefits most from this philosophy, as it has already been renewed for a second season without the first being released until March 2025. The MCU would do well to keep the ball rolling.
THE Reckless The Netflix series ran for three seasons, which gave the story time to breathe and really pay off in the end after watching Matt Murdock progress as a character over that time. Daredevil: Born Again is essentially a fourth season, considering it will follow the events of the original series. If Marvel Studios really wanted something special on their hands, they would allow Daredevil to get as many seasons as possible.
5
Nail Doctor Destiny
The MCU needs a Thanos-level threat
When it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr. would play Doctor Doom in Avengers: Judgment Day and Avengers: Secret Warsthere was a lot of talk about the casting, both good and bad. It's definitely a bold choice to cast Downey Jr. after he dedicated a decade to the MCU playing Tony Stark. Whether it's the right choice or not will only be known when he officially appears as Doctor Doom.
Make no mistake, Marvel needs to get Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom right from the start. If he's a lackluster character and doesn't live up to the hype, it can be very easy to say he was the wrong choice to play the character. If Doctor Doom is amazing, and Downey Jr. gives one of his best Marvel performances ever, then Kevin Feige, Robert Downey Jr., and the Russo Brothers will be geniuses. It's a risky move that needs to be successful.
4
Discover the film Blade
Fans have been waiting for Mahershala Ali's blade for half a decade
One of the most frustrating things about the MCU since the end of the Infinity Saga is all the drama surrounding the Blade movie. Mahershala Ali was announced as the character with a film in the works in 2019. Since then, several directors and writers have come and gone from the project, with the film stuck in limbo the entire time. With a notable talent like Ali wanting to play the character, it's incredibly frustrating to see Marvel Studios fumble such a simple concept.
It shouldn't be this hard for the biggest movie franchise of all time to figure out how to do it. Blade. Wesley Snipes' return as a character from Deadpool and Wolverine It was a lot of fun, but it muddied the waters even more, with Mahershala Ali's take on the character still not coming any time soon. If Marvel really intends to make a Blade movie, they'll need to actually figure it out by 2025 or Mahershala Ali could eventually decide to finally walk away.
3
Have more recurring villains
Characters like Loki are audience favorites
There have been some great villains throughout the history of the MCU, but there have been others that are even more common, just a footnote in the larger universe. One of the main reasons this happens is because Marvel likes to routinely use villains as something unique, never giving them enough time to properly develop.. Loki, Thanos and Kingpin are some of the best the MCU has ever had and have been in multiple projects.
In 2024, DC showed how successful it can be to keep a villain around for more than one film, as Colin Farrell as the Penguin got his own series after being introduced in Batman. It was the right decision too, considering he became one of the best comic book villains of all time. The MCU needs to do this more. Characters like Galactus and Doctor Doom need the same kind of treatment. Isolated villains can be great, but turning them into something even greater is even more rewarding.
2
Finally get a Fantastic Four adaptation right
Marvel's first family deserves a quality adaptation
The Fantastic Four has struggled to get a truly great adaptation for three decades. The 1994 film was made just to keep the rights and was never released. The two mid-2000s movies were serviceable at their best, and the 2015 attempt is one of the worst comic book movies of all time. Marvel's First Family is ready for a fantastic adaptation and the MCU needs to completely deliver with the next film.
The Fantastic Four: Getting Started is without a doubt the most important MCU film in 2025. The cast is incredible and there is a lot of promise that it will be set in a retro-futuristic 1960s universe. If the film is a flop, it could be a long time before the Fantastic Four gets another film. They will absolutely be included in team-up films, but their own film series could never get off the ground. This means it's time for a major character adaptation.
1
Make Avengers: Secret Wars the greatest Marvel movie of all time
Secret Wars Should Celebrate Marvel Cinematic History
Avengers: Endgame it was a cinematic event that few films (if any) could rival. It was also, by far, the largest cast of characters in a superhero film, concluding the Infinity Saga in remarkable fashion. Avengers: Secret Wars need to do the same for the end of the Multiverse Saga, but it needs to be even bigger, given the nature of the story and what Marvel has been building this whole time.
Avengers: Secret Wars will apparently bring together decades of Marvel films into one big film, likely resulting in the biggest cast of characters the MCU has ever seen. The Multiverse Saga allows these massive stories to happen, and if Avengers: Secret Wars It really is the end of this iteration of UCMbefore a possible soft reboot, it needs to be absolutely massive, with legendary characters throughout the years each having a role to play when all is said and done.
