Of course, gamers will likely still have many of the best Xbox games of 2024 to enjoy in the first few months of 2025. However, once the backlog has been resolved, Xbox users will be able to dive into some of the most anticipated games of all time. To RUIN fans, The Dark Ages promises another blood-filled experience that is sure to entertain fans and newcomers alike for the decades-old franchise.
DOOM: The Dark Ages is actually a prequel to 2016 RUINwhich makes it an excellent starting point for those who prefer its aesthetic to previous entries. In it, players unravel a mystery in the beautiful, but extremely dangerous and radioactive, English countryside after a nuclear disaster devastates the country. Filled with terrifying robots, invaders, and bizarre factions, players must venture through this dangerous wasteland in search of answers.
Very similar to Fallout 4 EffectPlayers can create their own weapons and must scavenge for resources to survive. This comes from the developer behind Elite Sniper and Zombie Army series, although it is played in a first-person perspective. Atom fall has been at the top of player lists for a while now for good reasonand is sure to become a critical darling when it releases in March 2025.

33 Immortals was originally planned for release in 2024, but was delayed by its developer Thunder Lotus Games – the folks behind the wonderfully moving game Spiritualist - in 2025. It is, as the title suggests, a cooperative roguelike in which 33 players team up to face huge hordes of monsters. and terrifying boss fights. It's a fresh take on the roguelike genre that's sure to surprise fans.
It joins the pantheon of Xbox indie exclusives launching in 2025, which certainly makes it a jam-packed year. Of course, it's hard to complain, especially when it comes from a developer with such a great reputation. Handcrafted visuals and animations elevate this amazing-looking roguelike adventure which we hope will be delivered when it launches in 2025.

However, this isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it gives players more than enough to get stuck into throughout the year. Ark 2 is changing things compared to its predecessorbut it looks in the best way possible. It has learned many lessons and is offering players a much grander and more ambitious experience that will be perfect for dinosaur enthusiasts.
Of course, all these games are just icing on the cake, as Xbox users have had so much more to look forward to over the years. From exciting new indies to surprise AAA releases and cross-platform games, there will be more than enough games for people to pack into their already crowded backlogs. Xbox Series X/S users should start hopping on the hype train for these games, as 2025 looks set to be one of the best years in gaming history.
