Yotei's Ghost (Sucker Punch Productions)

Yotei's Ghost is the big PlayStation exclusive of 2025bringing players back to Sucker Punch Productions' romanticized and rather gruesome version of Feudal Japan. Set hundreds of years after the events of the first game, players will take on the role of a new protagonist, Atsu, as she takes on the titular mantle of Ghost as part of her new mission. After reports that Elden Ring 2 isn't in development, fans have pretty much given up hope of getting anything remotely related. Happily, FromSoftware had a co-op adventure cooking in the background and proudly announced it with all the flair one would expect from the talented developer.

Elden Ring Night Kingdom is a fully standalone co-op experience where players attempt to defeat some of the toughest bosses FromSoftware has designed while exploring the vast open world. It's everything fans have come to love, just with a more developed co-op element. PlayStation fans should keep an eye out for this when it launches in 2025.

A new dark fantasy ARPG

Ballad of Antara is an epic new soul-like, open-world action RPG in which players take on the role of an Emissary as they navigate a cruel fantasy world. With several diverse regions to explore and a multitude of characters to meet, Ballad of Antara looks like it could be 2025's answer to Dragon's Dogma 2. It can also be played entirely in multiplayer mode, which is great for anyone looking for a co-op experience on PS5.

Notably, Ballad of Antara It's completely free to playalthough how this will affect the basic experience has not yet been disclosed by its developer. It's a terrifying horror game in which players take on the role of The Burnt One as they try to navigate a Tim Burton-style handcrafted world made entirely of clay. With frightening monsters to face and a truly surreal landscape to explore, The Midnight Walk is certainly one of the most unique indies of 2025.

What makes it stand out from the rest is the gameplay loop in which players rely on their faithful friend Potboy to get through unscathed. Players can use Potboy's flame to distract enemies while they hideor use it to navigate dark spaces. An exciting new open-world RPG

Where the winds meet looks set to be a truly epic RPG, which will be worth checking out on PS5. It's set in a beautiful open world in ancient China, filled with thousands of points of interest for players to discover. It can be played entirely alone, but also has co-op and multiplayer modes, with the potential to play with thousands of other people. More PvP modes are also planned for the future, which is great for those who enjoy playing online.

Where the winds meet could be PlayStation's answer to Ubisoft's game design styleas it places great emphasis on exploring a vast open world filled with endless activities, while unlocking new skills and weapons through various RPG systems. If developer Everstone Studio can pull this off, PlayStation could have another epic open-world adventure on its hands.
