10 Iconic Games Still Missing from Nintendo Switch Online

Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can play online as part of the package, but the real incentive for most is the library of games NSO has available. Nintendo cataloged classics from many of its eras: NES, SNES, Game Boy, GBA, N64 and even SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive games. However, there are many classic titles that still need to be added – some more than others.

The NSO subscription service features several incredible classic games spanning decades, and the service continues to grow every year. However, many iconic games from different franchises are still missing of the subscription service, leaving many fans asking for its addition. Many games from Nintendo’s main franchises, such as The Legend of Zelda and Pokémon are not included, with high hopes that they will one day be added.

The Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Nintendo DS

Wishing The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass on Nintendo Switch Online is more representative of a larger problem for the service: There are still no games for Nintendo DS, GameCube or Wii. While this makes it difficult to hope that such a game could be added, Phantom Hourglass It would be the perfect fit for the handheld hybrid console and is one of the most underrated games in the series that deserves to be introduced to new audiences.

This side-scroller platformer focuses on Pit as he fights to save Palutena and all of Angel Land from a terrible demon known as Orcos.

Given how popular Kid Icarus: Revolt was on the 3DS, a return to the franchise via NSO is highly anticipated. If Myths and monsters being able to log into the Nintendo Switch Online service will allow many to discover this game for the first time.

THE Super Smash Bros. the franchise has been an icon of the video game franchise for many years, especially after how incredible Super Smash Bros Ultimate was. With the franchise’s popularity over the past few decades, it feels right to finally return to the first game after all this time.

Despite the original’s much smaller roster, it still stands the test of time as an iconic fighting game with incredibly fun and engaging gameplay. Adding the original Super Smash Bros. the NSO would allow large communities of dedicated fans to revive this beloved title.

The original Animal crossing debuted on the Nintendo 64 and received critical acclaim from gamers around the world. With each new release, this franchise gains more fans who seek to enjoy a peaceful life in their small village or remote island. With how popular Animal Crossing: New Horizons was, along with the exclusive Happy Home Paradise DLC that comes with the NSO subscription, the original Animal crossing the game would feel like home among the many other games that are available.

With enough Animal crossing fans are just getting their first taste of the franchise with New HorizonsAdding the original game to NSO would be a great way for later fans to experience the first iteration of the cozy life simulator. Although its features and gameplay may be lacking compared to ACNHThere’s still a lot of fun to be had in the N64 game.

Conker’s Bad Skin Day is a 2001 3D platformer that was released on the Nintendo 64 and immediately stood out for its mature themes. Although it was nowhere near as popular as Super Mario, still has a devoted cult following who begged for the game to return on modern consoles.

Many were concerned that due to the game’s crude humor, strong language, and sexual themes, it would never be remade for a modern Nintendo console. Fortunately, as the Nintendo Switch Online service now includes other adult games such as Perfect Dark and TurokThere’s always a chance that Conker’s Bad Skin Day could eventually return.

People have been begging for Chrono Trigger being brought to modern consoles for years, Nintendo should consider adding this game to its library.

As great as it would be for this game to be re-released on Switch, its inclusion on NSO is entirely dependent on whether or not Nintendo can make a deal with Square Enix. Until then, the fate of Chrono TriggerThe inclusion of NSO in the NSO remains up in the air.

The first two games of the Earthbound The franchise was finally added to Nintendo Switch Online for Western players in 2022. The two games have been a staple of the RPG genre for many years, with many hoping the third game will one day be available. However, many soon discovered that Japanese players could also obtain Mother 3meaning that Western gamers were once again left without this long-awaited sequel.

The reason why there was no Mother 3 launch outside of Japan is because has never been localized to any other country. How long did fans wait for an English translation of Mother 3it deserves to finally have a chance to reach the West, and NSO would be the perfect home for it.

Out of everything Donkey Kong games, Donkey Kong 64 is certainly the most popular and one of the most requested titles to be added to Nintendo Switch Online. It was a very ambitious game for the timewith great music, fun gameplay and engaging challenges. There’s a lot to love about this iconic game.

Despite its immense popularity, many of Donkey Kong Games on NSO were different titles than 64as Donkey Kong country. Perhaps one of the biggest fights that has prevented DK 64 of being placed in NSO is that the developers may be trying to balance their gameplay to avoid setbacks. Whatever the reason, Nintendo should listen Donkey Kong fans and give them what they want before the Switch 2 arrives.

There was possibly no greater fan outcry than that over Pokémon Red, Blueand Yellow to finally be added to Nintendo Switch Online. As the trio of games that kicked off the iconic and beloved franchise that involves capturing and fighting monsters, they deserve to be added to the multi-game lineup.

These classic titles would fit perfectly at home next to the Pokémon TCG added to the service just a few years agoand as one of the most popular franchises in the world, most Pokémon games needed to be added before Nintendo Switchthe successor finally arrives.
