The lack of magic items that Baldur’s Gate 3 Bouse is impressive, and many of the items were specifically intended to be used by monks. Monk is, in my opinion, one of the most fun classes in the game, and the novelty of killing enemies with a single, powerful punch will never wear off. Many items can help this powerful punch in the game, but some are especially useful.
Many of the best things about Monks are found in Act Three, but that doesn’t mean the first two acts are devoid of useful things. Monk is unique in that it gains bonuses not only for weapon attacks but also for unarmed attacks; You can take advantage of your natural dexterity by delivering powerful hits to your opponents and also have a few defensive options. BG3Monk’s subclasses, ie the Way of the Open Hand, Four Elements and Shadow, all have different traits and features, so which items are best for you may depend a bit on which subclass you choose.

Armor of Uninhibited Kushigo
A common armor piece that boosts the patient’s defense
The Armor of Uninhibited Kushigo is part of a set that can all be found in Act One. This armor is Given as a reward for the “Find the Missing Shoes” quest in the Underdark; After giving Sergeant Trinh’s boots back in Grymforge, this is one of the reward options she offers you. The armor itself allows you to use your reaction to make an unarmed attack roll against anyone who misses you with a melee attack while using Patient Defense.

Shoes from Uninhibited Kushigo
The second piece of the Kushigo set buffs your unarmed strike
The Boots of Uninhibited Kushigo are another item that works particularly well for Monks; When you have them equipped, add your WIS modifier to the damage to your unarmed strikes. While this can only add up to five extra damage max, it’s still another way to do a lick more damage with your powerful punches. Because WIS is your key stat as a monk anyway, boosting your Ki abilities and AK as long as you don’t wear armor.
Your ability modifier increases every two points above 10. So, if your WIS score is 12, your modifier is +1. If your score is 14, your modifier is +2, and so on. This pattern stops once your ability score reaches 20, which is the effective maximum for every stat but AC.
You can find the Boots on Prelate Lir’i’c, who is one of the Gith that attack you in the Astral Plane right after finishing Act Two. You’ll get a nighttime cutscene before entering Baldur’s Gate, where the Emperor will summon you to the astral plane. Here, you will fight Prince Orpheus loyalists who protect him in his stasis. If you defeat them, you can collect the boots of one of the fallen enemies.

Garb of earth and sky
Boosts your offense and defense
Garb of the Land and Sky is a fantastic all-around option for Monks, giving you +1 to AC and a few other benefits. This clothing item gives you Blade Ward
While using patient defense, which makes you resistant to execution, slashing and bludgeoning damage. Additionally, your wind step will also be buffed. After you use Step of the Wind, your next attack roll will have advantage and take 1d8 Force damage.
With how many buffs this item offers, it’s an excellent option for someone who wants to play Monk But does not want to hunt items for a specific build. This garment is found in Act Three, in Danthelon’s Dancing Axe. The shop is in Wyrm’s Crossing and will cost you 800 gp. If you have nothing else to wear when you start Act Three, this robe is a good choice for any monk.
7
Sentient Amulet (very rare)
Save a ghostly monk and avoid the laughing curse
The Sentient Amulet can be picked up in Act Two, at the same place in Grymforge where you encounter the Fire Elemental, and comes with a slight inconvenience unless you properly complete the quest associated with it. You will be able to throw Shatter
Once per long rest, but USIf you take the amulet to the Temple of the Open Hand in act three and defeat the monk who owns itYou will need to succeed on a WIS save when you cast the spell. If you fail, you will fall into uncontrollable laughter until you can pass the rescue.
Along with giving you the ability to cast Shatter, you’ll also gain Ki Restoration, which allows you to restore Ki points during battle. This is super useful for monks, allowing them to use their bonus actions more often and consistently providing more resources between long rests. If you finish the amulet’s quest in act three, the amulet will restore even more ki points than before.

Scabby pugilist cross
One of the few options Monks has for headware
The Scabby Pugilist Circlet is a pretty simple item that only appears in Act Three, so you’ll likely have found something else to wear that you like better, but if not, this piece is a pretty good placeholder. You can buy it from Mattis near the requisitioned barn, but he must survive until Act Three for it to be available.
While saving Mattis, you should check out BGPs video on YouTube that explains how to save all the tieflings in the game. The Circle deals two extra damage to your unarmed strikes when two or more enemies surround you. It’s good for any melee fighter, especially your monk, as it will provide an upside to being outnumbered in a fight.

Vest of Soul Rejuvenation
Armor of Uninhibited Kushigo, but better
The Vest of Soul Rejuvenation is a defensive clothing item that provides basically the same effects as the Armor of Uninhibited Kushigo but slightly stronger. When you succeed on a saving throw against any spell, you will heal for 1d4 damage. You can also use your reaction to make an unarmed hit against an enemy that misses you with a melee attack, and it increases your AC by two. This is a consistent way to keep your monk alive thanks to his marginal healing, and you can also get a little more damage per turn.
The clothes are a bit complicated to get, How who sold it depends on the status of Rolan and Lorroakan. If Rolan dies, you can buy it from Lorroakan’s Projection in Sorcerous Sundries. If they are both alive, you can buy it from Rolan, who takes the place of the projection.
If Rolan is alive, and you killed Loroakan, you can use the “trade” option to buy it from him during the dialogue in Razmit’s Tower. If you, like me, prefer to keep Rolan alive, check it out A human justices video on YouTube to ensure you are doing the search correctly.

Heldusk gloves
Hit even harder, now with necrotic damage
The rare gloves are a direct update to those Flawless Heldusk Gloves
You can get it from Dammon and you can get it by defeating Harleep in the House of Hope in Act Three. The gloves retain all the abilities of the flawed version while providing some additional bonuses. They still allow you to cast beams of fire once per short rest. They also add 1d6 necrotic damage to your unarmed strikes. The flawed version and normal version of the gloves give you a +1 bonus to STR while adding 1d6 fire damage to your weapon attacks.
3
Amulet of Greater Health
Is a super powerful item for any party member as it sets your CON to 23, increasing your health significantly. As a monk, your health increases by five, plus your CON modifier each time you level up. With your CON maxed out, your health will be much higher, allowing you to stay in dangerous combat longer and do more punching in classic Monk style.
In order to grab this amulet, you’ll need to make your way to the House of Hope’s Archive, where you can find the Orphic hammer
If you didn’t take Raphael’s deal BG3.
If you go through all the checks around the number, you will notice that the pedestal there is a pressure sensor, which will activate an alarm if the amulet is taken. If you place an item of equal weight on the pedestal in turn-based mode, you should be able to grab the amulet without setting off any alarms. If you’re not quite sure how to do this, check out Nicogaming lives video on YouTube for a full walkthrough.

Snow-dusted monastery gloves
Do some cold damage and cast an extra spell
Most monks can’t cast magic, so while the gloves don’t provide much extra damage, the Snow-Dusted Monastery Gloves do increase your repertoire a bit. You will deal an extra 1d4 cold damage per unarmed strike and also gain the ability to throw Scroll of ice knife
Once per long rest. This is a small buff in the grand scheme of thingsAnd to be honest, it’s not as strong as some of the other glove options for monks, but it will allow you to have one more spell under your belt.
1
Gloves of soul-catching
The strongest gloves all around for monks, combine well with the vest of soul rejuvenation
The Gloves of Soul Catching are necessary to make your way from Open Hand Monk into an absolute punching machine. TThe gloves add 1d10 force damage to all your unarmed attacks, and you heal 10 damage once per turn when you use an unarmed strike.
Not only will you be able to heal, but if you don’t need to heal, you can choose to use this effect to instead give advantage to all your attacks and saves for a full turn. Finally, the gloves also boost your CON by two, adding to your maximum health.
If you didn’t pick up the Amulet of Greater Health in the House of Hope, you should at least take the time to ensure you get it. All you need to do is save Hope from Raphael’s dungeon and win in his epic boss fight, And she will reward you with the gloves as a thank you. The House of Hope is one of the hardest areas in Baldur’s Gate 3 Too obvious, but anyone playing Monk will want to take the time to grab these truly powerful gloves.
