Termination. This series, starring Adam Scott as Mark Scout, told the story of a man splitting his consciousness in two, with one part of himself going to work every day and the other leaving the office with no memory of his professional life. The juxtaposition and potential horror of this situation were the driving forces of Separation narrative.
While this idea of forgetting about the workday may seem aspirational, in reality, it would leave an employee who was essentially a slave to their job, who never had the opportunity to experience life outside of work hours, not even to sleep. The philosophical and ethical questions that Termination conjured were truly fascinating because they opened the door to exploring the moral dilemma of exploring oneself. With ample scope for more content, it will be exciting to see how much more Termination delves into the human condition and the soulless nature of work life in season 2.

Through the sometimes spiritual story of Justin Theroux as Kevin Garvey, a local police chief whose ex-wife has joined a cult called Guilty Remnant, The leftovers told a thought-provoking and deep and philosophically rich narrative. While The leftovers may not be as accessible as other must-see TV series, it was extraordinarily rewarding for viewers who connected with its dense, heartfelt themes.
