In modern cinema, the superhero genre has become one of the most consistently successful, and MCU films in particular have gained enormous popularity. Adapting beloved characters and stories from the pages of comic books opens up many opportunities for fan service, and comic book movies regularly take advantage of these opportunities.
Giving fans what they want is rarely easy, as subjectivity often comes into play. However, franchises sometimes choose to specifically implement intended plot points, and while in some cases – such as some DCEU films – this doesn’t pay off, they do provide memorable moments of fan service. Joker tells the villain’s origin story on the big screen
Joker (2019)
While many actors have played the Joker in live action, the one thing that has always been missing from the villain’s many iterations is his exact origin. The story, which chronicled the time when the character became Batman’s iconic nemesis, was something many wanted to see. Given the villain’s importance in the Batman mythos, fans have been waiting a long time to give him a clear and detailed origin story.
2019s Joker said exactly that, and in the most expressive way imaginable. Joaquin Phoenix played the role of Arthur Fleck. The film gives the typical portrayals of the character an interesting narrative twist. The origin story received critical acclaim and was wildly popular with fans, who appreciated the dark and creative perspective it added to the character’s story. In case Jokergiving the fans what they wanted proved extremely successful.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Stan Lee’s Confirmed Theory

Since the beginning of the franchise, the MCU’s post-credits scenes have been used in ways that help tie individual issues together by connecting storylines or teasing themes. There were many characters introduced in these scenes, but Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 also used a post-credits sting to confirm a long-standing fan theory. After Stan Lee’s much-loved cameos in every Marvel movie, this scene confirmed that fans’ guesses about their meaning were correct.
The theory was that Stan Lee’s cameos amounted to him being an informant or agent for the Universe Watchers, powerful beings who monitor the events of the Marvel Universe. Post-credits scene Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 really showed how Lee reported to the Observersusing a comedic tone. This scene not only confirmed a great fan theory, but it delivered exactly what fans wanted.

Deadpool 2 used the X-Men

After the success of 2016 Dead PoolThe announcement of the sequel was met with general anticipation. However, the X-Men references in the first film have led many to voice their desires for more X-Men characters to appear, especially given Deadpool’s ties to the team from the comics. Deadpool 2 was able to please these fans, albeit in the most hilarious way.
While visiting the X-Mansion, Deadpool begins ranting about how none of the more famous heroes from the X-Men films have appeared. During his monologue many of Fox’s actors X-Men you can watch the franchise in the background before quietly closing the door during Deadpool’s fourth devastating tirade and disappearing from view. This is the moment that introduced the X-Men’s cameo appearances in the Deadpool film, with a sarcastic wink to the audience that perfectly matched the overall tone of the Deadpool films.

‘The Last Dance’ Gives Venom and the Sonyverse a Good Villain

Despite some success, Sony’s Spider-Man Universe remains incredibly divisive, especially because its films tend to be of wildly varying quality. Announcement that Knull will be the villain in Venom: The Last Dance delivered exactly what fans asked for. As the founder of the Venom race and a dark deity in the Marvel Universe, Knull is an incredibly powerful being who should be more than a match for Eddie Brock and the Venom symbiote. Knull’s announcement immediately raised the stakes for Venom: The Last Dancegiving fans exactly what they wanted from Sony’s Spider-Man universe.

Black Adam makes the long-awaited return of Henry Cavill’s Superman

Although the DCEU began with the introduction of Henry Cavill’s Superman, the franchise has rarely used the character. After responding to the 2017 post. Justice Leaguethe character practically disappeared, his existence being mentioned only in passing. This has prompted fans to lobby for Cavill’s return, largely in response to rumors that the role of DCEU Superman could be recast.
It was a shock when Black AdamThe post-credits scene saw Henry Cavill return as Superman, hinting at a future showdown between the two DC heavyweights. It was a triumphant moment that delivered exactly what DCEU fans had been asking for, although it was brutally short-lived. Soon after Black AdamThe DCEU was announced to be ending and the role of Superman was subsequently recast for the DCU. Although Black Adam gave fans Henry Cavill’s Superman for the last time, things weren’t quite as they had hoped.

The Avengers saw the team finally assembled

2008s Iron Man did more than just kick off the MCU—it also teased the existence of a shared Marvel universe. Once the franchise began tying up its release with post-credits teasers and small references to other films, fans began to hope that the MCU heroes would team up in one crossover film. Fortunately, they did not have to wait as long for this payment as they did four years later. Avengers was released.
At the time, having six major Marvel characters appear in one film was completely groundbreaking. 2012s Avengers cemented the MCU as the most promising cinematic universe in existenceas it capitalized on the popularity and crossover potential of stories told in Marvel comics. The Flash brings back the old Batman played by Michael Keaton

The success of Tim Burton’s Batman films was overshadowed by Joel Schumacher’s two subsequent films, the poor reception of which led to the Caped Crusader’s cinematic hiatus for nearly a decade. However, many fans fondly remembered Michael Keaton’s time in the cape and cowl and felt he was a perfect fit for the shared universe. In fact, this desire dates back to the ’90s, when Keaton’s Batman was at one time planned to appear alongside Nicolas Cage as Superman.
The announcement that Michael Keaton would reprise his role as Batman in the DCEU was met with much excitement. Seeing the actor once again take on the mantle of a much older version of the Dark Knight in Flash gave many fans what they had been hoping for since the early 90s.especially given his place in the overall DCEU. Although Keaton’s return turned out to be a one-off, it still paid off after years of waiting.

Endgame saw Captain America: Lift Mjolnir
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Since Thor’s debut in the MCU in 2011, Mjolnir, only lifted by worthy beings, has been mentioned many times. Scene 2015. Avengers: Age of Ultron raised the question of which Avengers might be worthy of wielding Thor’s hammer, to which Steve Rogers was the most obvious answer since he did it in the comics. This has led many fans to openly wish for Rogers to lift Mjolnir into the MCU, proving himself worthy of the power of Thor on the big screen.
Avengers: Endgame saw just such a moment come when Rogers held Mjolnir during the Battle of Earth. In fact, this scene fulfilled two long-time fan wishes, as while wielding Mjolnir, Captain America finally uttered the iconic line: “The Avengers assemble.» This moment was a huge payback for those fans who had been patiently waiting for it.which makes it especially spicy as a result.

No Way Home Delivered on Multiverse Promise

Announcement that Spider-Man: No Way HomeThe story of the MCU’s early exploration of the Multiverse has been met with great excitement, which has naturally led to widespread speculation about what it might entail. The subsequent announcement of the return of famous villains from the Sam Raimi series Spider-Man trilogy and The Amazing Spider-Man the franchise only added fuel to this fire, with fans hoping to see their favorite characters again. Many were hoping to see reprises of their roles as Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield, although their participation was categorically denied.
In fact, No way home obliged fans by asking Maguire and Garfield to join Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to fight their enemies together. Watching the three live-action versions of Spider-Man fight alongside each other was a huge emotional experience for many viewers, as fans were hoping to see just such an event. In his dealings with the Multiverse, No way home did exactly what fans hoped for.

‘Doctor Strange 2’ Benefits from Popular MCU Fan Show
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Throughout the Infinity Saga, the Fantastic Four have been one of the most noticeably absent Marvel heroes in the MCU. However, that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about which actors would be best suited for the roles: John Krasinski was the most popular choice to play the MCU’s Reed Richards, along with his real-life wife Emily Blunt as Sue Storm. 2022 Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saw the eponymous sorcerer explore the Multiverse, leading to many variant episodes.
In one such cameo, Krasinski played Reed Richards of Earth-838, albeit briefly before he was killed by Scarlet Witch. Ultimately, the film gave fans what they wanted: Krasinski played Reed Richards, although it was in an incredibly disappointing role. Despite this, the way it addressed a specific fan approach and brought it to life is similar to the comic book movies of the time. MCU, DKUand moreover, this is perhaps one of the clearest examples of how fans get exactly what they asked for.
