10 Biggest My Hero Academia Her next moments

Warning: Spoilers for My Hero Academia: You Are Next

My Hero Academia: You are next debuted outside of Japan, and the movie was another action-filled adventure for Deku and the rest of Class 1-A. Against the evil villain known as Dark Might, a man who seems to share all of Might’s appearance and powers, Deku and friends have their work cut out for them.

The movie showed many exciting moments from the first scene to the last, and introduced some interesting new characters with unique abilities all their own. Being a big moment doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be a fight scene, but many of the biggest moments are fights. These moments show characters putting their power to the test, or facing difficult parts of themselves or their lives. Ranking such moments can be difficult, but some clearly drew more of a response from fans and audience members than others.

Stopping the jailbreakers

Class 1-A is on the job

My Hero Academia You're Next Todoroki and Class 1-A stand by as villains are arrested.

The movie opens with Class 1-A divided into three teams, conducting clean-up operations to capture escaped villains who have all been released from prison one by one. Each of the three teams gets a little something to do, but Deku’s team is obviously the most prominent. They are able to take down the villains they are still without much trouble, showing how far the students have come in training their skills and quirks over the course of the series.

It’s an interesting look at a job that Class 1-A must have been up to, but wasn’t shown in the anime proper. Cleaning the jailbreakers would definitely be an important task before the final war breaks out, eliminating as many potential enemy combatants as possible to make the confrontation just a little easier.

Giulio’s action debut

Giulio establishes a complex character quickly

Giulio riding his motorcycle and preparing to shoot.

Giulio is an original character for the film. He is first seen by Deku on a motorcycle in the distance, but the two do not really come into contact until Deku is chasing down a villain with a hostage named Genji. Giulio appears out of nowhere and attempts to kill Genji’s hostage, much to Deku’s shock. It’s already been shown at this point that Giulio is carrying a photo of the hostage girl, Anna, so they have some sort of preexisting relationship…but why would Giulio try to kill someone whose picture he’s carrying around?

Deco becomes the idealistic voice on Giulio’s shoulder, encouraging him to find another way to stop the abuse of Anna’s power other than killing her.

This moment perfectly establishes the core conflict at the heart of Giulio’s character – that he loves this girl, but feels she must be stopped before something tremendously dangerous can happen. Deco becomes the idealistic voice on Giulio’s shoulder, encouraging him to find another way to stop the abuse of Anna’s power other than killing her.

Creating the fortress

Dark may arrive in style

My Hero Academia You're next Dark Might Fortress

Dark May first appears and reclaims Anna, killing the villain who previously held her hostage for betraying him. Then he uses her power In some way, and begins to illuminate the surrounding area in a brilliant light, which ends up including Class 1-A and the huge number of innocent civilians who happened to be in a hiding place nearby. However, the light does not stop there, and begins to reshape the fabric of the city into a massive flying fortress under Dark Mite’s control.

This scene is probably one of the most powerful uses of a quirk ever seen in The My hero academia franchise, even put stunts by All for One or Shigaraki to shame, with the exception of Shigaraki destroying Jakku City. Dark Might proves that he is certainly not someone to be trifled with, but at this point, the heroes have no choice but to confront him.

The vestiges keep deco

Deku is saved from a Demon Slayer-esque dream sequence

My Hero Academia Deku uses Overdrive with all the other vestiges of One for All

As Deku and friends begin to reach the fortress’s courtyard, they discover that Dark Might’s henchwoman, Deborah Gorrini, has a “daydream” quirk that can cause anyone she looks at to fall into an unconscious state, dreaming of Something they wish to be true. Deborah is using Anna’s Quirk on the civilians in search of compatible men, but is finding none when Deku shows up.

Before Deku can fall too deep into her trance, however, the vestiges of One for All’s previous users appear and help him break her control, Although he is not fully awake yet. This prevents Deku from ending up completely incapacitated, and allows him to visit Giulio in his dream, waking up the cyborg butler and breaking Deborah’s concentration, allowing everyone else to wake up as well.

The Heartbreaking Dreams of Class 1-A

Some students have really tragic dreams

Deborah Gorini uses her quirk to put people to sleep.

While Class 1-A is sleeping through Debra, the audience is given a glimpse of many of their dreams. While some, such as Cero’s, are about what you’d expect, others are downright heartbreaking. Iida dreams of fighting crime side-by-side with his brother, a dream that may never come true because of the injuries his brother has sustained fighting Stain. Shoji dreams of the young girl he saved from drowning, and is actually allowed to interact with her instead of being beaten for being a heteromorph.

The saddest, however, is Shoto Todoroki. Todoroki dreams of being invited to play with his siblings – including Toya. Endeavor and his mother are shown watching the children have fun, and it’s a peaceful, happy moment…the kind that Shoto never once got to experience growing up.

5

Deku Vs. Genji

Deku battles the kidnapping villain

Genji escapes from Deku with Anna.

Deku is alerted to a villain in the nearby area while hunting jailbreakers with his team near the beginning of the film, and opts to go ahead and put a stop to him alone. The villain is Genji, whose glutton Quirk gives him a mouthful in his stomach. however, Deku arrives to find that Genji’s Quirk has seemingly evolved, now providing him with two additional mouth appendages coming from his back. Deku bravely fights the villain, even when he tries to break into a shelter where innocent people are hiding.

Deku’s fight with Genji is interrupted first by Giulio, and then by Dark Might’s subordinates, But what we do get to see of it is a pretty exciting battle, especially as Genji uses Anna’s Quirk to further enhance his power.

4

Bakugo and Todoroki Vs. Jill and Hugo Gorrini

Bakugo and Todoroki put in the work

My Hero Academia: Bakugo vs. Todoroki at the Sports Festival.

Bakugo and Todoroki have their share of moments in the film, but their greatest match-up is one that forces two of Class 1-A’s biggest guns to work together. Against a pair of villains, one who uses teleportation (Jill) and one who uses telekinesis (Hugo), Bakugo and Todoroki have a hard time landing a single blow, as Jill is able to disappear and reappear before their attacks land.

This scene seems to tie in with the You’re no further Prequel chapter released before the film, as in the prequel, Deku speculated how unstoppable Bakugo and Todoroki could be if they work together, and this fight absolutely proved that.

The two young heroes are stuck trying to figure out exactly how Jill’s teleportation works, eventually being able to figure out the details and predict his movements. Finally nailing him with their most powerful attacks. This scene seems to tie in with the You’re no further Prequel chapter released before the film, as in the prequel, Deku speculated how unstoppable Bakugo and Todoroki could be if they work together, and this fight absolutely proved that.

3

Tokuyami’s Dark Shadow Solo

Tokuyami takes on an army

My Hero Academia: Tokoyami is completely possessed by Dark Shadow

When Deku, Todoroki, and Bakugo initially split off from the rest of the class, Tokuyami joins them. However, as they travel through the fortress, monsters begin to pour out en masse, forcing Tokuyami to stay behind to take care of them. In a relatively dark and dungeon-like environment, Tokoyami is able to use Dark Shadow very effectively, and is shown to fight a countless number of the monsters all by himself as the other three continue to confront Dark Mite.

Dark Shadow is often said to be incredibly powerfulAnd it’s not often that fans get to see Tokoyami really let loose and use Dark Shadow to its fullest extent. It’s a good reminder that Class 1-A has some real powerhouses besides the main trio.

2

Dark Mite’s monstrous new form

Dark Ken mutates into a monster

Dark mate in a suit

During the final confrontation with Dark Might, he once again tries to use Anna’s power to enhance his own, but this time, Anna’s power goes out of control, causing Dark Might to morph into a horrible, monstrous creature. The dark mite monster breaks free from the fortress and begins to fight it outside, going up against Bakugo, Deku and Todoroki, while Giulio desperately tries to help bring Anna’s quirk under control.

Dark Might’s All Might appearance is revealed to be fake, part of his Quirk’s ability to change things, and he is effectively revealed as the monster he truly is.

1

Deku’s Ultimate Smash

Deku pulls a new strongest move

Deku kicks Dark Mite's attack.

While fighting Dark Might, before his transformation, Deku delivers one of the biggest smashes of his entire heroic career, listing almost every state or city in the US. It seems to be an even more powerful attack than the United States of World Smash, combining a variety of different techniques in one attack. Given that Deku is very nearly at his strongest in the movie, this attack wields a huge amount ofpower, making it easy to see how it can conquer power at everyone’s level.

The use of a final attack is always an exciting moment, but this is doubly true when it is an original technique just for the movie that has not been seen before. The smash attack is both hilarious in its long name and awesome to see, ensuring that it is perhaps the Biggest moment of My Hero Academia: You are next.
