Anime transformations are a landmark of the genre. They're one of the best ways to signal that a character has undergone a physical, mental, or spiritual transformation, telling the audience that a whole new version of them is about to enter the scene. Some of the best transformations are power-ups, giving the character the strength needed to defeat an otherwise unbeatable enemy. Although there have been hundreds of anime transformations over the years, only a few of them are good enough to change the entire industry.
Some series, like Dragon Ball Z, are known for their transformations. DBZ It has dozens of different forms and power boosts, but that doesn't necessarily make them good enough to change the industry as a whole. Only a few transformations in anime are as powerful that changed the way people view transformations as a whole.

Okarun as Turbo Grandma
Dandadan
Dandadan It exploded in popularity when the anime was released. It's a new, hilarious and light-hearted series about two characters discovering phenomenal supernatural powers and the power of friendship at the same time. Although Momo obtains great psychic powers early in the first season, the real treasure of the series comes from Okarun's transformation. Before meeting Momo and Turbo Granny, he was a quiet and reserved character who did not speak for himself. After his transformation, he is almost too cool to be recognized.
Okarun receives the power of Turbo Granny and from the Dandadan the uniqueness you need to stand out from other anime series. Okarun's transformation from a socially awkward young man to a force to be reckoned with gave a revitalization to the transformations as a whole. With Turbo Granny's powers, Okarun flies across the battlefield, faces the scariest enemies imaginable, and even calls Ayasa-san Momo-chan as if they've been friends for years.

Courage in Berserker Armor
Furious
Furious is an anime defined by its main character, Guts. He is one of the deadliest one-man armies in anime and manga, who fights more violently than any other character in the series. While he's gone through a few transformations as a character, none have been as major as when Guts finally acquired the titular Berserker armor. It is an armor unlike any other, as it does not actually protect Guts from damage. Instead, it makes you stop worrying about the pain and breaks his body in an attempt to cause insane damage to his enemies.
When Guts finally gets the Berserker Armor, Furious really hits its stride. It's always been a great series for manga readers, but Berserker Armor really set the stage for Black Swordsman. finally be the beast he really is. It also defined his character as a man focused on revenge, sacrificing his body and sanity if it means killing the Hand of God who terrorized him so completely.

Denji as Chainsaw Man
chainsaw man
chainsaw man and one of the best new anime series of the last decade. It stars Denji as the titular Chainsaw Man in a world full of Demons, people trying to stop them, and more. Denji was a social outcast who found a friend in Pochita, the Chainsaw Devil. When Pochita sacrificed herself so Denji could live, Denji's life finally found the meaning he was looking for. He was able to transform into Chainsaw Man and defeat his enemies with mad ferocity.
Denji's transformation is equal parts funny and moving. It's a reminder of how much it took for Denji to get to this point, but it's still pretty funny to see multiple chainsaws protruding from a man's face and limbs. Its transformation into something unique in the industry and has certainly made the industry overall better for it.

Monkey D. Luffy in fifth gear
One piece
After over 1,000 episodes, it's incredible to think that One piece It's still so exciting just like the day it came out, if not even more exciting now. The animation quality has improved immensely, the characters are still as adorable as ever, and somehow Luffy is still getting stronger. Luffy has had a fair number of power-ups and transformations in the series, but none are as important as Luffy's Gear 5 transformation during his fight against Kaido in Wano.
Luffy's Gear 5 form is not only monumental in how cool it is, but it has proven that One piece and Eiichiro Oda still have a lot of stories to tell. Most anime series have a hard time making it through a single 12-episode season - One piece no. 1,000 episodes later, it's still as captivating to watch Luffy fight as it was during episode 100. His Gear 5 transformation is breathtaking, jaw-dropping, and fierce all at the same time.

Goku achieving Ultra Instinct
Dragon Ball Super
Dragon ball is a franchise known for its transformations. Goku has been a part of almost all of them, including a Great Ape form, Kaio-ken used to double his attack power, and the legendary Super Saiyan form as well. When Dragon Ball Super came out, it seemed Dragon ball as a franchise it would just be reusing the same old tricks in an attempt to bring its series back to life. While it may be the case, Goku achieving Ultra Instinct revitalized the series as only a Saiyan could.
The Ultra Instinct form crashed Crunchyroll's servers when it was first revealed during the Tournament of Power in a fight against Jiren. It's a form that allows Goku to fight on an entirely different level, and even the Destroyer Gods watching the Tournament couldn't help but stand in awe. Just like Luffy's Gear 5 transformation into One piece, Ultra Instinct proved that Dragon ball it was far from over.

I will use the limiting transform
Hunter x Hunter
Gon's Limitation Transformation during the Chimera Ant Arc Hunter x Hunter was as mental as physical. Throughout the series, Gon has always been a happy, affectionate and curious boy. When he saw Kite die, something inside him changed permanently. He gained a much darker side that emerged in his fight against Pitou when he decided to trade his entire future to gain the strength needed to kill the Chimera Ant.
Gon used a Limitation Transformation to sacrifice his potential to draw everything into the current moment, significantly growing in size. Although Pitou is one of the strongest villains in Hunter x Hunter, she didn't compare to the newly changed Gon. Hunter x Hunter is no stranger to dark moments, but none were darker than this one. Gon wouldn't mind if he died right after the fight as long as he could take Pitou with him.

Naruto Obtaining Sage Mode
Naruto: Shippuuden
naruto is another shōnen series with many transformations. naruto He himself has multiple tailed beast forms, one form where he shares his power with Kurama, and another form that comes directly from the Sage of the Six Paths himself. His basic Sage Form is different from all of them, as it is the only form that Naruto actually gained on his own. All other forms were given to him or derived from someone else's power.
Naruto himself had to go to Mount Myoboku to acquire this form in order to gain the strength needed to finally defeat Pain and protect his village from Akatsuki once and for all. This form is significant for this reason, as it adds another layer of depth to Naruto's character. Although he was never weak-minded, working into this form showed that even Naruto can work hard to achieve the results you are looking for.

Titan Shapeshifters
Attack on Titan
Attack on Titan and one of the most titanic anime series of the last decade and some changes. It features Eren Yeager and his friends as they try to survive the horrors of the Titans and discover the world that lies beyond them. Titans aren't just random beasts, but people transformed using the Titan serum.
Even worse, some people are able to transform in Titans, like the Colossal and Armored Titans that tore down the Walls and killed Eren's mother. After the Titans, they finally had the potential to be scary.

Goku reaching Super Saiyan
Dragon Ball Z
Goku's first transformation into the legendary Super Saiyan form in Dragon Ball Z It's just that - legendary. That's it the biggest transformation in anime because of what it means for the anime industry as a whole. Most series feature their main characters with their backs against the wall, looking for a way to overcome their limit and beat unbeatable odds. No one had done it as well as Dragon Ball Z, presenting its main character in shades of gold and yellow.
Goku's transformation was clear as day. His hair turned gold, his muscles ripped through his shirt, and his demeanor became much more serious. It's the biggest transformation in anime because of how well it shows Goku's intent as a warrior and his physical and mental transformation during his fight with Frieza. His speech is also one of the best in the anime, proclaiming that he is the “hope of the universe” and the person who will finally end Frieza's reign.
