Both Amy Rose and Metal Sonic have made their first appearances, and with that comes the question of who will play them in the next film. There are many actors who could play Amy Rose in Sonic 4but Metal Sonic's role is undoubtedly more challenging.

Metal Sonic is a unique character to release compared to the rest of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. This is because, in many cases, he simply has no voice at all, serving as a silent antagonist. There are cases where it is dubbed, however, and now that a fourth Sonic the Hedgehog film has been confirmed fans have a lot of room to speculate about Metal Sonic's cast.

Josh Brolin

Thanos' voice would be more than adequate

Josh Brolin has been in a variety of massive films over the past few years, with credits including Dune franchise, as well as Dead pool 2. Famously, he played the role of Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, lending his voice to one of the most iconic movie and comic book villains of all time. His performance was not only imposing, striking fear into the hearts of fans, but also full of emotion.

Although Metal Sonic is a robot not exactly known for his big emotions, he is certainly an imposing villain. With appearances including the Sonic the Hedgehog OVA, which was released in 1996, Metal Sonic has become one of the most fearsome Sonic the Hedgehog villains ever. Brolin's voice would suit this facet of the character well, adding to the legacy of fear the character has already cemented.

Vin Diesel

Another Marvel voice could bring a darker touch to Metal Sonic

Another actor with a great voice, Vin Diesel became a well-known name for his roles in franchises such as Fast and Furious and The Chronicles of Riddick. He knows projects with many fans, not even dubbing, as he played the beloved character Groot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.. Years ago, Diesel even offered his voice to the iconic and titular character of The iron giant.

Not only does he have experience voicing and portraying these larger-than-life characters, but he is also well-versed in characters with complicated motivations. Metal Sonic is a character like that, complex despite looking like a simple robot created by Doctor Robotnik. Diesel would be perfect in this regard, even adding some star power to the role, in a similar way to Idris Elba with Knuckles the Echidna.

Bardem's massive on-screen presence would boost Metal Sonic's character

Something that seems to shine through in all of his performances, for the most part, is the seriousness of the character, with Bardem more than capable of delving into the darker parts of each figure's personality.

If he played the character Metal Sonic, it wouldn't be his first time as a voice actor either. He has played roles in films such as Fascinated and Automata that were not physical papers, but rather animated or CGI characters. Bardem is also best known for his villainous characters, and his inclusion as a Metal Sonic character would certainly excite fans.

He is known for his commanding voice and stage presence, with many of his roles containing a certain intimidation factor. This is not to say that this is all he is capable of, as roles like Hank Anderson in Detroit: Become Human and Zim in Starship Troopers show how flexible your acting style can be. Therefore, he would also be the perfect person to play Metal Sonic, as he would be able to act in any situations that the plot throws at the character.

The modern voice of Sonic The Hedgehog

If Metal Sonic were to receive his own voice, this experienced actor would also be an excellent choice.

2

Ryan Drummond

Drummond has played Metal Sonic before

One of the few cases where Metal Sonic was dubbed was in the 2004 video game Sonic Heroes, a classic and spiritual successor to the beloved game Sonic Adventure 2, that much of the film Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is based on. In Sonic Heroes, Metal Sonic is played by voice actor Ryan Drummond. This is especially important because he also plays Sonic the Hedgehog in these games, serving as Sonic's voice actor starting with Sonic Adventure.

As Sonic's voice has played Metal Sonic previously, It would be amazing to have the original voice of Sonic the Hedgehog back as the iconic villain. He has played the character before, which makes him ideal for the role. Drummond's inclusion would be a treat for fans new and old, offering a different voice than Ben Schwartz, but in turn reminding older fans of their past nostalgia for the games.

1

Ben Schwartz

The New Movies Could Learn a Lesson From Old Sonic Games and Movies

If anyone were to play the character Metal Sonic, it would be Ben Schwartz, the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog in the film franchise. Most of the time, Metal Sonic is portrayed as imitating those around him, taking on their voices and learning from them. This is especially evident in the comics, as well as in the portrayal of him by Sonic voice actors over the years.

This would allow the films to copy an element of Metal Sonic's character that has been an integral part of him as a whole since the beginning. Copying Sonic's voice would also be a frightening event to see, providing plenty of opportunities for him to even impersonate Sonic in the conflict. It offers so many avenues for expansion in the future of Sonic the hedgehog 4, making its inclusion in the end credits scene of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 much more important.
