DC’s super pets return to comics and recruit Nightwing’s puppy as their newest member
Puppy, puppy, and away! Begins with Dick and Barbara dropping Haley off at the Kent farm while attending a no-pets-allowed wedding. Haley quickly runs to the Kent barn, where she is greeted by Krypto and Ace the Bat-Hound. She is then introduced to the other super pets, including Jumpa (Wonder Woman’s pet kangaroo), Gleik (the Wonder Twins pet monkey), Damian Wayne’s Bat-Cow, and Green Lantern B’DG, who, although not a pet, is similar to an alien squirrel. Haley is officially inducted into the Super Pets and briefed on their mission to rescue Supergirl’s pet cat, Streaky.
This iteration of the Super-Pets team consists of eight members, with three of them belonging to the Bat-Family: Haley, Ace, and Bat-Cow. This is the highest number of Bat-Family members to have actively served on the Super-Pets team at once, even surpassing the current Super-Family Pets, Krypto and Streaky. This makes for an interesting dynamic, especially since Holly is still a puppy. Fans also get to see Haley’s Nightwing-inspired costume in actionFeaturing a black mask and dog-friendly suit with Nightwing’s signature blue and black color scheme and insignia, along with various pouches.

Bitwing deserves its own Over-pets series (especially as the Bat-Family’s newest member)
Despite the variety of stories in Special Super Pets: Bitedentity Crisis #1, Puppy, puppy, and away! stands out as the most light-hearted and entertaining, making a strong case for Bitewing to have its own series. As one of the newest members of the Bat-family, Haley offers potential for fresh and engaging stories, whether they explore her past, present or future. Delving into Haley’s life before her adoption by Dick would be intriguing and emotionally moving. In addition, the statement of a Over-pet-centric story set in the main continuity is exciting, especially since Haley is now a grown dog in Taylor Nightwing Run.
