A Star Trek: Deep Space Nine The season 7 episode features a great callback Star Trek: First Contact. Although Deep Space Nine again Star Trek: The Next Generation they met each other in the middle Star Trek timeline wise, the two shows had little in common. DS9 it was set on a space station, used a linear storytelling format, and dealt with darker, more subtle themes than the usually optimistic ones. TNG. However, both shows have experienced significant crossovers, one of which is Worf (Michael Dorn) to join DS9season 4 cast.
Although he is perhaps best known as the main character TNGWorf's time is on Deep Space Nine he undoubtedly added more variety and depth to his character. Worf's arc is on DS9 not only did he marry Jadzia Dax (Terry Farrell) but also his heavy involvement with the Klingon Empire's participation in the Imperial War, including the assassination of Chancellor Gowron (Robert O'Reilly) during the season 7 episode “Taking a Breath.” During their fight to the death, one of Gowron's lines was a subtle but visible repetition of something Worf had said TNG movie about three years earlier.
Gowron's line refers to Wof's threat to Picard
Gowron told Worf “If you were a true Klingon, I'd kill you right there!” to DS9 almost an exact copy of Worf's “If you were anyone else, I would kill you right there!” to Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) in Star Trek: First Contact. Although different characters spoke these two lines, their context was exactly the same, enhancing their connection. Both lines were spoken at the top of their stories during the conflict between two letters. Likewise, Worf's line entered First Contact it was because Picard had despised his honor, while Gowron entered DS9 he answered the same insult from Worf.
Worf's threat to Picard still had some respect for his captain, showing that Worf's respect for Picard was the only thing stopping him from attacking.
However, given that both lines involve Worf, perhaps it's their differences rather than their similarities that make them so endearing. Worf's threat to Picard still had some respect for his captain, showing that Worf's respect for Picard was the only thing stopping him from attacking. In contrast, Gowron's line was completely insulting, clearly stating that all respect between the two was lost. This difference may be part of why Gowron and Worf are at loggerheads Deep Space Nine it ended in violencewhen Picard and Worf face each other First Contact Picard concluded apologetically.
The First Contact had great lines
Including the Worf line, Star Trek: First Contact arguably the cheapest film featuring the TNG cast, and a few other great moments that have stood the test of time. The most memorable of all the quotes in the film was certainly Picard's fiery speech to Lily Sloan (Alfre Woodard) about the Borg at the time. First Contactclimaxincluding his statement, “A line must be drawn here! The scene perfectly illustrates Picard's hatred for the Borg and was the culmination of his emotion that had been building throughout the film.
Except for Picard's quote, the same lines as Worf's “Put this in!” during the fight with the Borg and a little tongue in cheek “And you guys, you're all astronauts… some kind of star travel?” from Zefram Cochrane (James Cromwell) combined to really bring home the quotability of Star Trek: First Contact. A long time Star Trek writers Ronald D. Moore and Brannon Braga have a knack for writing quotable dialogue, and their combined efforts in the film helped make many scenes come to life. Other TNG movies certainly have their memorable moments, but most don't have nearly as many memorable lines.
