One of the most feared and enduring villains in Marvel lore is none other than Galactus. Few characters – let alone villains – in the Marvel Universe can hope to reach the same level of power or stature as Galactus, a real feast for the eyes if ever there was one.
When Galactus was first introduced to Marvel, he was presented as the ultimate invincible type of character. Even in the decades since he first appeared on the panel, his losses are still few and far between. With that he said, Galactus is still defeated enough to make it clear that he is as invincible as when he was conceived.. This list exists to show Galactus' most infamous defeat, who put Galactus down, and how they were able to bring down the beast.

The Ultimate Nullifier Was Originally The Only Known Weapon That Could Kill Galactus
Fun in Four #50 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby

Johnny Storm manages to retrieve the weapon directly from Galactus' home planet when the fate of Earth hangs in the balance. Reed Richards continues to threaten Galactus with it, showing readers for the first time that fear is plastered on the planet eater's face.
The weapon was originally created by Mr. Watcher and it proved to be powerful enough to destroy not only an entire race, but part of the universe. King Thor Uses Galactus' Cosmic Power Against Him
Thor #6 by Donny Cates, Nic Klein, and Matt Wilson
Few things in the universe are more powerful or a greater threat to the universe itself than Galactus. One of those rare creatures is known as Black Winter, a creature so powerful that it forces an alliance between King Thor and Galactus to stop him.. In fact, Galactus appoints Thor as his Herald for the event. In doing so, Galactus gifts the Asgardian king with the Power Cosmic to complete his transformation into the Herald of Galactus.
However, in what would be Thor's greatest failure as king, the God of Thunder decides to kill Galactus before he can defeat the Dark Winter, using all the Power Cosmics given by Galactus to blast Galactus. The Power Cosmic is one of the most powerful sources in the Marvel Universe, so for Galactus to be defeated by his power is quite a cruel ending.

In the future, Franklin is able to tame Galactus and force Galactus to become the Herald of Franklin Richards, doing his will whenever called upon. How timelines and time limits work in the Marvel Universe (even DC) can be hard to explain, but if the official canon future of Earth-616 comes anywhere close to what's being said here, then Franklin might end up being a hero. The Beyonder Swats Galactus From The Sky
Secret Wars #1 by Jim Shooter, Michael Zeck, John Beatty, Christie Scheele, and Joe Rosen

Not one to sit idly by, Galactus conspires with Doctor Doom to run after The Beyonder first. Both of these criminals have the cockiness to think that they can easily eliminate this mysterious threat.
It was then that the heroes were horrified to see Galactus and Doctor Doom “turned back like flies,” in the words of Captain America. This serves as a way to quickly find out just how powerful this Outsider is, as the interaction makes it clear that even the World's Destroyer is no match for him.

Fantastic Four #243 by John Byrne, Glynis Wein, and Jim Novak

When Galactus and his Herald, Terrax, target the planet Earth, it takes the combined forces of the Fantastic Four, The Avengers, and all the mightiest heroes in the New York area to bring an attack against them.
It's also worth noting that Galactus has grown incredibly weak at this point, as he lacks food.. Fighting his hunger only makes him weaker. His own Herald, Terrax, attacks him in an attempt to break free from the Devourer's control. While Galactus fights his treacherous servant, it allows the heroes time to plan another attack. The final blow comes from Reed Richards who acts as a slingshot to propel the Thing into Galactus' face, bringing down the mighty creature.

As the Hunger tries to devour the Marvel Universe, Galactus and Thanos try to end their business together.
