Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: The Acolyte – Kelnacca #1
star Wars he has somehow been redeemed The Acolyte's live-action Wookiee Jedi. Known as Kelnacca, the rare Force-sensitive Wookiee was one of the Jedi involved in the events of Brendok and the fateful night that would set twin sisters Mae and Osha Aniseya on separate paths. However, it has been widely argued that Kelnacca's role in the show was criminally underplayed when he could and should have gotten more (and more meaningful) screen time.
Thanks, new and canonical for Marvel Star Wars: The Acolyte – Kelnacca #1 offers a more satisfying High Republic Wookiee Jedi story than what was seen in it The Acolyte itself. In one story, an elderly Jedi Master on his deathbed shares with his Padawan the story of his master, Kelnacca. Having lost his original master during the fall of Starlight Beacon, Yarzion Vell was sent to have his training completed by Kelnacca. While Kelnacca was a Wookiee of very few words, his actions spoke volumesespecially after Yarzion showed great compassion to the family saved by the Jedi duo from the fire:
Getting to know his student, Kelnacca developing Yarzion is a truly touching moment. However, this issue goes further to show how the Wookiee cared and invested as a Jedi master during the High Republic Era.
Kelnacca Proves The True Power Of The Wookiee Jedi Masters
Long Live Live
As a Wookiee, Kelnacca has a very long lifespan, capable of living for hundreds of years. As such, the Wookiee was able to honor his former student in Yarzion's final moments and was present at his cremation. While Kelnacca was young, Yarzion himself became a Jedi Master in his own right many years after his knighting.
Likewise, Yarzion's disciple discovers that Kelnacca has the same tattoo as his late master, a Yarzion home custom where the name of one's greatest mentor is tattooed on the side of the head. Therefore, it is a touching testimony that Kelnacca cared about his student, even if he did not often express it in his own words.. It certainly shows that Kelnacca was a truly great Jedi Master during the High Republic Era, carving his student's name just as Yarzion had done for his former master (and he had done it for Yarzion).
New Kelnacca Comics Makes Its Live-Action Debut
Underused, Infested with Witches, and Killed Offscreen
Not only does Kelnacca honor his old student, but he also starts the cycle by agreeing to complete the Padawan's training at the end of the issue. Thus, this single issue is the best Wookiee Jedi story, with several Kelnacca sequences featured in it. The Acolyte itself. Not only was he not used much, but the times he was shown saw him being possessed by witches, killed off screen. So, this new comic serves as a great bonus for those who wanted more Star Wars' the first live-action Wookiee Jedi.
