WARNING: Contains potential spoilers for Wonder Woman #12!Wonder Woman again Robin Damian Wayne is two of my favorite characters in the DC Universe, so seeing them meet Absolute Power it was a dream come true—a dream that I hope will never end. Although only one version of their group was released in Tom King and Tony S. Daniel's Wonder Woman run, the promise of more delighted me beyond words.
Robin mimics Wonder Woman's speech in an earnest way that's incredibly endearing, reminiscent of a duck imitating her mother.
Wonder Woman #12 meets Absolute Powera cataclysmic crossover event where Amanda Waller hunts down and imprisons heroes using her power-stealing Amazo robots. The issue focuses on the teaming up of Damian Wayne and Diana Prince as they work to uncover the location of Waller's secret prison. By the end of the issue, I was convinced that the Amazon Princess and the Boy Wonder were the hero's ultimate friends, and I was eager to see more. Here are my top five reasons why I love this dynamic and the potential I see in it.

Diana Prince & Damian Wayne Are #1 Of DC's Most Unlikely Duos (& I'm SO HAPPY)
Robin & Wonder Woman Are Two Sides Of The Same Coin, Making For Super Powers
When I first heard about Diana and Damian they cooperated by asking Wonder Woman #12, I was over the moon. I never expected DC to give us a team up between Robin and Wonder Woman. Sure, they both have a connection to Batman, but right now, so do almost every hero in the DCU. Diana and Damian also have a connection through Wonder Woman's daughter, Trinity, but that's a link to the future, so it's not part of the current story. There really wasn't a reason for Diana and Damian to cross paths unless Tom King wanted to, and boy, am I glad he did.
The pairing of Diana and Damian isn't just interesting because it's unexplored territory; it's because they're so incredibly fun together. Both are heroes in their own right, but they approach heroism from different ends of the spectrum. While Diana champions and tries to avoid conflict if possible, Damian is quick to exploit fear and often turns to violence first. Watching these different people work together has been very funny. One of my favorite moments that captures their intensity is when Diana treats Damian like a misbehaving puppy. right before he brutally beats Captain Boomerang.

Wonder Woman Is Already Influencing Robin (And It's The Best Thing Ever)
I'm Sure Tom King Has Plans To Show Diana And Damian Learning & Interacting In Future Issues
One of the best parts of an unusual team encounter is seeing how the characters interact and how their behavior changes depending on who they work with. Or only one version of Diana and Damian Absolute Power The group has been released so far, it's clear that they are influencing each other. Wonder Woman's influence on Damian is perhaps the most visible, as little Robin has started to learn his native language. Throughout this version, Diana curses differently, using mythological references and allegory. By the end of the story, Damian has gotten used to the practice, saying, “Drapes of Dionysus.”
Robin mimics Wonder Woman's speech in an earnest way that's incredibly endearing, reminiscent of a duck imitating her mother. However, it appears that Damian may be influencing Diana. The core of Wonder Woman's character is to seek peace over violence. However, Boy Wonder's strong tendencies may carry over to the Amazon Princess. Despite refusing to harm Captain Boomerang on numerous occasions, Diana eventually swung after he repeatedly called her an insult. Some fans have noted that this sounds strange to Wonder Woman, but it could be seen as Robin's influence on her.

Sorry, Talia al Ghul, But Wonder Woman Is The Mother Damian Wayne Needs
Diana Shows Damian The Love And Comfort He ALWAYS Deserves
Wonder Woman #12 has been making waves on Tumblr and other social media for a highlight moment that melted the hearts of Damian Wayne fans. After several failed attempts to get Captain Boomerang to reveal the location of Waller's secret prison, Damian becomes increasingly frustrated and prepares to use the force. When Wonder Woman stops him, explaining that Batman would not want him to suffer, Damian backs off, pointing out that he is not his father. Diana's attempt to comfort him leads to his misunderstanding, prompting him to reply, “Isn't it? You have to remember, little one… I am also a child of god.”
Although Diana's statement implies that Batman is a god, she knows he is not, but she uses the comment to show that she understands the struggle of living with a parent with a god-like legacy. In this emotional situation, Wonder Woman holds a crying Robin, giving her the motherly love and comfort that DC has denied her. While many fans, myself included, are hoping for a portrayal of Good Mother Talia al Ghul in the comics, Wonder Woman stepping up to give Damian the motherly care he never got is very powerful and satisfying.

Robin & Wonder Woman Are The Cross-Generational, Cross-Team Duo I Didn't Know I Needed
DC May Have Just Stumbled On Their Coolest Idea In Years (And I'm Not Sure If They Realize It)
For a while, I struggled to pinpoint what made a Wonder Woman and Robin team-up feel so refreshing and different. But finally I got it: Diana and Damian represent different international pairings and different groups. Often, DC brings together different groups, such as Batman working with his Robins, or heroes of the same generation who come together, such as the Titans. Therefore, it is very remarkable to see the main hero of the Justice League like Wonder Woman teaming up with another hero's sidekick and son, like Robin.
Diana and Damian's team-up feels uniquely refreshing because they come from completely different families and generations of heroes—a dynamic that DC may not fully recognize. These cross-generational pairings and family splits provide a fun twist that can be used in other DC heroes. For example, seeing Batman meet one of the younger Flashes, like Bart Allen, could lead to some very chaotic and exciting situations. The potential for Justice League heroes to team up with young heroes outside of their own families is huge, providing a wealth of new, unexplored material that could revitalize the DC Universe.

Now I'm Worried About The Idea Of Damian Wayne Growing Up To Be Batman Fighting Along With Wonder Woman
Forget Wonder Woman's Daughter! Damian and Jon Can Join Diana When Their Fathers Retire (or Die)
Tom King's comic companion The Trinity envisions a future where Wonder Woman's daughter Lizzie, and Jon and Damian as adults, take center stage. This story series shows the new generation of the Trinity of the Justice League. However, after seeing the compelling interaction between Diana and Damian in the Wonder Woman #12, now I'm even more passionate the prospect of seeing an older Damian and Jon step into the role of father to the Trinity, and Diana. Given that Wonder Woman is immortal, she will likely be around long after Clark and Bruce are gone.
The idea of the sons of Batman and Superman joining Wonder Woman in this new era is very appealing. It would create a moment full of powerful circle, where Diana not only continues to protect and guide the sons of her best friends but also becomes a teammate. The scene offers a deeply emotional narrative, showing Wonder Woman's lasting bond with the legacies of Clark and Bruce. While Lizzie's character is interesting, seeing the development of the relationship between Wonder Woman again Robin as Damian grows up and takes on his father's mantle it will become even more interesting and meaningful.
